TL;DR: The experimental results presented in this paper demonstrate that the number and placement of voters in the TMR design can directly affect the fault tolerance, ranging from 4.03% to 0.98% the number of upsets in the routing able to cause an error in theTMR circuit.
Abstract: Triple modular redundancy (TMR) is a suitable fault tolerant technique for SRAM-based FPGA However, one of the main challenges in achieving 100% robustness in designs protected by TMR running on programmable platforms is to prevent upsets in the routing from provoking undesirable connections between signals from distinct redundant logic parts, which can generate an error in the output This paper investigates the optimal design of the TMR logic (eg, by cleverly inserting voters) to ensure robustness Four different versions of a TMR digital filter were analyzed by fault injection Faults were randomly inserted straight into the bitstream of the FPGA The experimental results presented in this paper demonstrate that the number and placement of voters in the TMR design can directly affect the fault tolerance, ranging from 403% to 098% the number of upsets in the routing able to cause an error in the TMR circuit

TL;DR: In this paper, a new third-order central scheme for approximating solutions of systems of conservation laws in one and two space dimensions is presented, based on reconstructing a piecewise-polynomial interpolant from cell-averages which is then advanced exactly in time.
Abstract: We present a new third-order central scheme for approximating solutions of systems of conservation laws in one and two space dimensions. In the spirit of Godunov-type schemes, our method is based on reconstructing a piecewise-polynomial interpolant from cell-averages which is then advanced exactly in time. In the reconstruction step, we introduce a new third-order as a convex combination of interpolants based on different stencils. The heart of the matter is that one of these interpolants is taken as an arbitrary quadratic polynomial and the weights of the convex combination are set as to obtain third-order accuracy in smooth regions. The embedded mechanism in the WENO-like schemes guarantees that in regions with discontinuities or large gradients, there is an automatic switch to a one-sided second-order reconstruction, which prevents the creation of spurious oscillations. In the one-dimensional case, our new third order scheme is based on an extremely compact point stencil. Analogous compactness is retained in more space dimensions. The accuracy, robustness and high-resolution properties of our scheme are demonstrated in a variety of one and two dimensional problems.

TL;DR: Non‐resorbable and resorbable commercially available membranes are described, based on expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, poly(lactic acid), poly(glycolic acid) and theirCopolymers and their copolymers.
Abstract: In this review, different barrier membranes for guided bone regeneration (GBR) are described as a useful surgical technique to enhance bone regeneration in damaged alveolar sites before performing implants and fitting other dental appliances. The GBR procedure encourages bone regeneration through cellular exclusion and avoids the invasion of epithelial and connective tissues that grow at the defective site instead of bone tissue. The barrier membrane should satisfy various properties, such as biocompatibility, non-immunogenicity, non-toxicity, and a degradation rate that is long enough to permit mechanical support during bone formation. Other characteristics such as tissue integration, nutrient transfer, space maintenance and manageability are also of interest. In this review, various non-resorbable and resorbable commercially available membranes are described, based on expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, poly(lactic acid), poly(glycolic acid) and their copolymers. The polyester-based membranes are biodegradable, permit a single-stage procedure, and have higher manageability than non-resorbable membranes; however, they have shown poor biocompatibility. In contrast, membranes based on natural materials, such as collagen, are biocompatible but are characterized by poor mechanical properties and stability due to their early degradation. Moreover, new approaches are described, such as the use of multi-layered, graft-copolymer-based and composite membranes containing osteoconductive ceramic fillers as alternatives to conventional membranes.
