TL;DR: In this article, a non-linear theory of elasticity is used to deduce a differential equation of motion valid for arbitrary initial and linear second order deformations, and the metric of the final state is used.
Assuming the superposition of two elastic displacements the non-linear theory of elasticity is used to deduce a differential equation of motion valid for arbitrary initial and linear second order deformations. For computations the metric of the final state is used. The differential equation contains as main terms two tensors of order three and four, respectively. These tensors are further investigated both in general and in special cases.
