TL;DR: Rural entrepreneurship can help in mitigating the complex challenges caused by migration and be a catalyst in the economy’s engine, triggering and stimulating all economic activity.
Abstract: A society’s prosperity critically depends upon the level of success, prosperity and growth opportunities available to its people. Entrepreneurs serve as the catalyst in the economy’s engine, triggering and stimulating all economic activity. The present study is based on primary and secondary data collected from various sources and primary data collected from Dahanu district of the Indian state of Maharashtra India during 2017-18. Qualitative data collected from different stakeholders including rural entrepreneurs concluded that agriculture is predominant occupation in Dahanu district of Maharashtra. Seasonal migration is common due to seasonal nature of rice farming, leading to high rate of school dropouts. Entrepreneurial ventures available in Dahanu categorized into two categories viz. Agriculture based and non-agriculture based ventures. Prospective entrepreneurial ventures in the study area are warli painting, poultry farm, clothes, handicrafts and handlooms, floriculture and perfumery, rice processing unit, ice factory, Sapota processing unit, Bidi making which can operate on commercial basis. There is scope to scale up existing ventures as well. Entrepreneurship helped certain individuals to reduce migration and to continue the education of their children. Hence, rural entrepreneurship can help in mitigating the complex challenges caused by migration.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared Indian states and union territories in terms of hospitality competitiveness index, considering Hemmington's framework on hospitality that includes five dimensions: host-guest relationship, generosity, performance, the small surprises, and the buying experience.
Abstract: The tourism sector has become an important contributor for the economic rise of India in the global scenario, with both domestic and foreign tourists wanting to engage in tourism activity more than ever. Multiple destinations in India offer them bouquet of tourism and simultaneously confuse them too in terms of suitable destination selection to visit. The present study compares Indian states and union territories in terms of hospitality competitiveness index. The study considers Hemmington’s framework on hospitality that includes five dimensions: host-guest relationship, generosity, performance, the small surprises, and the buying experience. The multi-criteria decision method Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is used for the empirical analysis. Data for the study pertained to the year 2014 and was collected from various available reliable sources.

TL;DR: In this article, a system dynamics model of circular flow of electronics products from manufacturing stage to recycling stage has been developed using STELLA Software version 9.1.3 and seven scenarios have been simulated using the model to study behaviour of various variables.
Abstract: Despite the fact that 95% of the electronic waste (e-waste) generated is routed to unorganised sector, India is still struggling to put up an effective e-waste management system. This paper highlights the sustainability link of an efficient and effective e-waste reverse supply chain (RSC) of e-waste in India. A system dynamics (SD) model of circular flow of electronics products from manufacturing stage to recycling stage has been developed using STELLA Software version 9.1.3. Seven scenarios have been simulated using the model to study behaviour of various variables. Study of trends provides very useful insights to facilitate policy decisions for implementation of e-waste RSC in India. This study also recommends various strategies to improve the collection efficiency of the organised sector.
