TL;DR: It is hoped that this review will lead to a more direct approach to the characterization of pharmaceuticalsolids and ultimately to faster approval of regulatory documents containing information on pharmaceutical solids.
Abstract: Purpose. This review describes a conceptual approach to the characterization of pharmaceutical solids. Methods. Four flow charts are presented: (1) polymorphs, (2) hydrates, (3) desolvated solvates, and (4) amorphous forms. Results. These flow charts (decision trees) are suggested as tools to develop information on pharmaceutical solids for both scientific and regulatory purposes. Conclusions. It is hoped that this review will lead to a more direct approach to the characterization of pharmaceutical solids and ultimately to faster approval of regulatory documents containing information on pharmaceutical solids.

TL;DR: This article proposed a conceptual model of destination branding based on spreading activation theory and extended from the image formation process framework, drawing on works of prominent branding scholars, and found that cooperative branding results in a consistent attributes-based image across multiple rural communities as perceived by tourists.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focus on the biosynthesis and regulation of plant volatiles, the involvement of floral volaticles in plant reproduction as well as their contribution to plant biodiversity and applications in agriculture via crop-pollinator interactions.
Abstract: Plants synthesize an amazing diversity of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that facilitate interactions with their environment, from attracting pollinators and seed dispersers to protecting themselves from pathogens, parasites and herbivores. Recent progress in -omics technologies resulted in the isolation of genes encoding enzymes responsible for the biosynthesis of many volatiles and contributed to our understanding of regulatory mechanisms involved in VOC formation. In this review, we largely focus on the biosynthesis and regulation of plant volatiles, the involvement of floral volatiles in plant reproduction as well as their contribution to plant biodiversity and applications in agriculture via crop-pollinator interactions. In addition, metabolic engineering approaches for both the improvement of plant defense and pollinator attraction are discussed in light of methodological constraints and ecological complications that limit the transition of crops with modified volatile profiles from research laboratories to real-world implementation.

TL;DR: This paper presents some components of a toolkit of components that can be combined for specific privacy-preserving data mining applications, and shows how they can be used to solve several Privacy preserving data mining problems.
Abstract: Privacy preserving mining of distributed data has numerous applications. Each application poses different constraints: What is meant by privacy, what are the desired results, how is the data distributed, what are the constraints on collaboration and cooperative computing, etc. We suggest that the solution to this is a toolkit of components that can be combined for specific privacy-preserving data mining applications. This paper presents some components of such a toolkit, and shows how they can be used to solve several privacy-preserving data mining problems.
