TL;DR: Three kinds of dynamic systems are defined for the purposes of this paper and one of them is chosen for preliminary analysis using the particle swarm on the parabolic benchmark function.
Abstract: Using particle swarms to track and optimize dynamic systems is described. Issues related to tracking and optimizing dynamic systems are briefly reviewed. Three kinds of dynamic systems are defined for the purposes of this paper. One of them is chosen for preliminary analysis using the particle swarm on the parabolic benchmark function. Successful tracking of a 10-dimensional parabolic function with a severity of up to 1.0 is demonstrated. A number of issues related to tracking and optimizing dynamic systems with particle swarms are identified. Directions for future research and applications are suggested.

TL;DR: Inner approximation algorithms have had two major roles in the mathematical programming literature: their first role was in the construction of algorithms for the decomposition of large-scale mathematical programs, such as in the Dantzig-Wolfe decomposition principle and recently they have been used in the creation of algorithms that locate Kuhn-Tucker solutions to nonconvex programs.
Abstract: Inner approximation algorithms have had two major roles in the mathematical programming literature. Their first role was in the construction of algorithms for the decomposition of large-scale mathematical programs, such as in the Dantzig-Wolfe decomposition principle. However, recently they have been used in the creation of algorithms that locate Kuhn-Tucker solutions to nonconvex programs. Avriel and Williams' Avriel, M., A. C. Williams. 1970. TL;DR: Gold nanorods excited at 830 nm on a far-field laser-scanning microscope produced strong two-photon luminescence (TPL) intensities, with a cos(4) dependence on the incident polarization.
Abstract: Gold nanorods excited at 830 nm on a far-field laser-scanning microscope produced strong two-photon luminescence (TPL) intensities, with a cos4 dependence on the incident polarization. The TPL excitation spectrum can be superimposed onto the longitudinal plasmon band, indicating a plasmon-enhanced two-photon absorption cross section. The TPL signal from a single nanorod is 58 times that of the two-photon fluorescence signal from a single rhodamine molecule. The application of gold nanorods as TPL imaging agents is demonstrated by in vivo imaging of single nanorods flowing in mouse ear blood vessels.

TL;DR: Experimental results show that two different approaches have unique advantages and disadvantages in this classification application of multisource remote sensing and geographic data.
Abstract: Neural network learning procedures and statistical classificaiton methods are applied and compared empirically in classification of multisource remote sensing and geographic data. Statistical multisource classification by means of a method based on Bayesian classification theory is also investigated and modified. The modifications permit control of the influence of the data sources involved in the classification process. Reliability measures are introduced to rank the quality of the data sources. The data sources are then weighted according to these rankings in the statistical multisource classification. Four data sources are used in experiments: Landsat MSS data and three forms of topographic data (elevation, slope, and aspect). Experimental results show that two different approaches have unique advantages and disadvantages in this classification application.

TL;DR: This review discusses the molecular structure, dynamic behavior, and structural modifications of hydrogels as well as the various applications of these biohydrogels.
Abstract: ▪ Abstract Hydrogels are cross-linked hydrophilic polymers that can imbibe water or biological fluids. Their biomedical and pharmaceutical applications include a very wide range of systems and processes that utilize several molecular design characteristics. This review discusses the molecular structure, dynamic behavior, and structural modifications of hydrogels as well as the various applications of these biohydrogels. Recent advances in the preparation of three-dimensional structures with exact chain conformations, as well as tethering of functional groups, allow for the preparation of promising new hydrogels. Meanwhile, intelligent biohydrogels with pH- or temperature-sensitivity continue to be important materials in medical applications.
