TL;DR: The main concepts and features of the FLO Air Interface including the modulation and coding techniques used, the frame structure, and the different sub-channels within the physical layer are described.
Abstract: This paper provides an overview of the physical layer of the Forward Link Only (FLO) Air Interface. The FLO Air Interface is a key component of the MediaFLO system developed by QUALCOMM as an alternative mobile multicast technology for the efficient transmission of multiple multi-media streams to mobile devices using TV and multi-media channel bandwidths in VHF, UHF, or L-band. The main concepts and features of the FLO Air Interface including the modulation and coding techniques used, the frame structure, and the different sub-channels within the physical layer are described. The available data rates as well as other characteristics of FLO are also described. Finally, the performance of the FLO physical layer in representative channel environments is presented

TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus and method for a mobile device to detect unexpected behavior associated with the mobile device is presented, where a memory and a processor coupled to the memory are configured to monitor at least one of physical conditions and/or device actions associated with mobile devices and execute an anomaly exception routine if the anomaly threshold value is exceeded.
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for a mobile device to detect unexpected behavior associated with the mobile device. The mobile device may include a memory and a processor coupled to the memory. The processor may be configured to monitor at least one of physical conditions and/or device actions associated with the mobile device. If a call or a data transmission is requested, the processor may be configured to compare the monitored physical conditions and/or device actions to an anomaly threshold value and may execute an anomaly exception routine if the anomaly threshold value is exceeded.

TL;DR: A block request streaming system provides for improvements in the user experience and bandwidth efficiency of such systems, typically using an ingestion system that generates data in a form to be served by a conventional file server.
Abstract: A block request streaming system provides for improvements in the user experience and bandwidth efficiency of such systems, typically using an ingestion system that generates data in a form to be served by a conventional file server (HTTP, FTP, or the like), wherein the ingestion system intakes content and prepares it as files or data elements to be served by the file server. The system might include controlling the sequence, timing and construction of block requests, time based indexing, variable block sizing, optimal block partitioning, control of random access point placement, including across multiple presentation versions, dynamically updating presentation data, and/or efficiently presenting live content and time shifting.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method and apparatus providing enhanced sensitivity for GPS receivers (400, 500, 600, 700) by allowing coherent integration of a correlation over several code periods of a GPS signal in one embodiment, and by performing a time to frequency domain conversion to the output from a correlation processor in a second embodiment.
Abstract: Method and apparatus providing enhanced sensitivity for GPS receivers (400, 500, 600, 700) by allowing coherent integration of a correlation over several code periods of a GPS signal in one embodiment, and by performing a time to frequency domain conversion to the output from a correlation processor (507) in a second embodiment. In the case in which coherent integration is performed over several code periods, advantage is taken of the fact that CDMA cellular telephone base stations transmit information that allows the receiver to determine GPS time before beginning a GPS signal acquisition process. The integration can be expanded to include code periods from more than one bit period, if the GPS receiver (400, 500, 600, 700) takes advantage of the fact that known bit patterns are transmitted at particular times within the transmission from a GPS satellite. If no base station is within range, then the output from a correlator (507) that integrates a correlation over one code period is used to generate values that are input to a discrete time domain to frequency domain transform processor (511). The output from the transform processor (511) will indicate the presence of a signal from a particular satellite and the offset between locally generated signal and the received GPS signal.

TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus and method for providing communication of information between a truck tractor and a trailer via existing truck wiring is presented, where at least one transmitter is located in each trailer for generating a unique identification signal representative of trailer identification information corresponding to the trailer in which the transmitter was located, modulating the identification signal, and providing the modulated identification on an existing truck power bus coupling the tractor and trailer.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing communication of information between a truck tractor and trailer via existing truck wiring At least one transmitter is located in each trailer for generating a unique identification signal representative of trailer identification information corresponding to the trailer in which the transmitter is located, modulating the identification signal, and providing the modulated identification on an existing truck power bus coupling the tractor and trailer A receiver is located in the tractor for receiving each modulated identification signal on the power bus, demodulating each modulated identification signal and providing each demodulated identification signal to a mobile communications terminal located in the tractor for transmission to a central facility The system may further include the transmission of trailer status or load status information by the transmitter to the receiver in a similar manner as the identification information
