14 Jun 2013TL;DR: In this paper, a transmit antenna generates an electromagnetic field having a region for wirelessly transferring power from the transmit antenna to a plurality of receiver devices, and a controller determines a power allocation for a particular one of the plurality of receivers disposed within the region, and adjusts the power allocation based at least in part on a power requirement received from the particular receiver devices.
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to wireless power transfer. A transmit antenna generates an electromagnetic field having a region for wirelessly transferring power from the transmit antenna to a plurality of receiver devices. A controller is operably coupled to the transmit antenna. The controller determines a power allocation for a particular one of the plurality of receiver devices disposed within the region, and adjusts the power allocation based at least in part on a power requirement received from the particular one of the plurality of receiver devices.

20 Jun 2008TL;DR: In this article, an efficient and personable way to manage mobile coupons in a mobile operating environment and provide increased value and utility for a user of such coupons is described. But this method is limited to mobile devices.
Abstract: Providing for management of a dynamic mobile coupon (DMC) at a mobile device is described herein. Particularly, dynamic characteristics associated with the DMC, such as a redeemable value, can be utilized to browse, sort, search, recall, or redeem the DMC utilizing a user interface of the mobile device. In other aspects, a DMC management application can interact with server components to backup and store DMC data, synchronize dynamic information (e.g., a dynamic redeemable value), access or manage a user profile, interface with other mobile devices to accomplish sharing, trading, exchanging, selling the DMC, and so on. Accordingly, provided is an efficient and personable way to manage mobile coupons in a mobile operating environment and provide increased value and utility for a user of such coupons.

TL;DR: Performance of a wideband multipath-fading terrestrial digital coded communication system with applications to a cellular system using direct-sequence spread-spectrum code-division multiaccess (CDMA) with M-ary orthogonal modulation on the many-to-one reverse link.
Abstract: Performance of a wideband multipath-fading terrestrial digital coded communication system is treated. The analysis has applications to a cellular system using direct-sequence spread-spectrum code-division multiaccess (CDMA) with M-ary orthogonal modulation on the many-to-one reverse (user-to-base station) link. For these links, power control of each multiple-access user by the cell base station is a critically important feature. This feature is implemented by measuring the power received at the base station for each user and sending a command to either raise or lower reverse link transmitter power by a fixed amount. Assuming perfect interleaving, the effect of the power control accuracy on the system performance is assessed. >

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus for controlling the data rates for communications to and from a base station and a plurality of remote users is described, where the measured usage value is compared against at least one predetermined threshold value and the data rate of communications or a subset of communications on said communications resource is modified in accordance with said comparisons.
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for controlling the data rates for communications to and from a base station and a plurality of remote users. The usage of the communications resource whether the forward link resource (from base station to remote users) or reverse link resource (from remote users to base station) is measured. The measured usage value is compared against at least one predetermined threshold value and the data rates of communications or a subset of communications on said communications resource is modified in accordance with said comparisons.

01 Apr 2017TL;DR: The use of smartphone grade hardware and the small scale provides an inexpensive and practical solution for autonomous flight in indoor environments with extensive experimental results showing aggressive flights through and around obstacles with large rotation angular excursions and accelerations.
Abstract: We address the state estimation, control, and planning for aggressive flight with a 150 cm diameter, 250 g quadrotor equipped only with a single camera and an inertial measurement unit (IMU). The use of smartphone grade hardware and the small scale provides an inexpensive and practical solution for autonomous flight in indoor environments. The key contributions of this paper are: 1) robust state estimation and control using only a monocular camera and an IMU at speeds of 4.5 m/s, accelerations of over 1.5 g, roll and pitch angles of up to 90 $^\circ$ , and angular rate of up to 800 $^\circ$ /s without requiring any structure in the environment; 2) planning of dynamically feasible three-dimensional trajectories for slalom paths and flights through narrow windows; and 3) extensive experimental results showing aggressive flights through and around obstacles with large rotation angular excursions and accelerations.
