TL;DR: In this article, an electronic smoking article that provides for improved aerosol delivery is described, in which one or more microheaters are used for improved control of vaporization of an aerosol precursor composition.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electronic smoking article that provides for improved aerosol delivery. Particularly, the article comprises one or more microheaters. In various embodiments, the microheaters provide for improved control of vaporization of an aerosol precursor composition and provide for reduced power requirements to achieve consistent aerosolization. The present disclosure further relates to methods of forming an aerosol in a smoking article.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors employed an electrical resistance heating element and an electrical power source to provide a dose of a drug in aerosol form, which advantageously comprise a disposable portion and a reusable controller.
Abstract: Drug delivery articles employ an electrical resistance heating element and an electrical power source to provide a dose of a drug in aerosol form. The articles advantageously comprise a disposable portion and a reusable controller. The disposable portion, normally includes a drug and an air permeable resistance heating element having a surface area greater than 1 m2 /g, which usually carries an aerosol forming material. The reusable controller normally includes a puff-actuated current actuation means, a time-based current regulating means to control the temperature of the heating element, and a battery power supply.

TL;DR: The Computer Integrated Manufacturing System (CIMS) as discussed by the authors includes a plurality of levels of computer control which organize and disseminate the information for controlling shop floor level systems, including scheduling data and data relating to process, product, and material specifications as well as bills of material are generated in an upper level computer system and refined and down loaded as needed to lower level computers controlling the shop floor processes.
Abstract: The Computer Integrated Manufacturing System includes a plurality of levels of computer control which organize and disseminate the information for controlling shop floor level systems. Both scheduling data and data relating to process, product, and material specifications as well as bills of material are generated in an upper level computer system and refined and down loaded as needed to lower level computers controlling the shop floor processes. The computers on the upper levels are capable of communication with the computers on the lower levels and computers on the same level are capable of communication with each other as needed to pass information back and forth.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors employed an electrical resistance heating element and an electrical power source to provide a flavored aerosol, which advantageously consisted of a disposable portion and a reusable controller.
Abstract: Flavor delivery articles employ an electrical resistance heating element and an electrical power source to provide a flavored aerosol. The articles advantageously comprise a disposable portion and a reusable controller. The disposable portion normally includes a flavor substance and an air permeable resistance heating element having a surface area greater than 1 m 2 /g, which usually carries an aerosol forming substance. The reusable controller normally includes a puff-actuated current actuation means, a time-based current regulating means to control the temperature of the heating element, and a battery power supply.

TL;DR: In this article, an intelligent computer integrated maintenance system and method includes an electronically stored parts manual which contains a hierarchical listing of all parts in production machines, and a maintenance operations computer controller which includes a maintenance schedule management subsystem, an engineering change control subsystem, a parts manual management subsystem and a spares inventory management subsystem.
Abstract: An intelligent computer integrated maintenance system and method includes an electronically stored parts manual which contains a hierarchical listing of all parts in production machines, and a maintenance operations computer controller which includes a maintenance schedule management subsystem, an engineering change control subsystem, a parts manual management subsystem and a spares inventory management subsystem. The maintenance schedule management subsystem obtains a schedule of actual and planned production, and groups maintenance activities in order to minimize lost production time. The engineering change control subsystem integrates engineering change activities with maintenance activities to maximize production time. The automated parts manual is also updated to account for engineering changes. The spare parts inventory management subsystem orders spare parts based on predicted maintenance rather than on prescribed inventory levels. Production efficiency is thereby maximized, as is the use of available maintenance manpower. Engineering changes are easily accommodated and spare parts inventory is kept to a minimum.
