TL;DR: A brief survey of numerous MUD techniques which have been developed for optimum MAI cancellation to improve BER and channel capacity and to reduce the computational complexity which increases exponentially with the number of users.
Abstract: DS-CDMA is currently running technique in which multiuser detection plays important role to remove the interfering signals. MUD exploits the structure of the Multiple Access Interference (MAI) and Inter symbol Interference (ISI) which occurs in CDMA systems due to non orthogonality of signature sequences and multipath fading between wireless communication channels. This paper contains a brief survey of numerous MUD techniques which have been developed for optimum MAI cancellation to improve BER and channel capacity and to reduce the computational complexity which increases exponentially with the number of users.

TL;DR: In this article, a robust design of conventional power system stabiliser (CPSS) by using metaheuristic cuckoo search algorithm (CSA) is presented, where free coefficients of the CPSS are optimised using CSA connected with a single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB) power system at nominal operating condition.
Abstract: This article presents robust design of conventional power system stabiliser (CPSS) by using metaheuristic cuckoo search algorithm (CSA). The free coefficients of the CPSS are optimised using CSA connected with a single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB) power system at nominal operating condition. The performance of such optimised controller (CSA-CPSS) is compared with the performance of well established H∞-based power system stabiliser (H∞-PSS) over a wide range of operating conditions of the SMIB power system. The superiority of the proposed CSA-CPSS is validated with least value of settling time and the performance indices as ITAE, IAE and ISE of speed response over the H∞-PSS. Moreover, the superiority is proved by eigenvalue plot for considered 209 plants as a fan-shaped structure in left side of s-plane with damping factor as more than 0.1. The performance of CSA-CPSS is also considered for the multimachine power system. The CSA-CPSS outperforms the CDCARLA-CPSS, BFOA-CPSS and SPEA-CPSS in terms of reduced settling time, overshoot and performance indices.

01 Nov 2018TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the properties of three different materials, namely Silica Glass, Borofloat and BK7, and concluded that all the three materials have their own merits and demerits and they show their properties in best manner for the selected wavelength region.
Abstract: Photonic crystal fiber is a widely searched research area which grabs the attention of researchers towards this field. Actually since last two decade innovations and experiments have been increased in this field. Here various materials and design are used for calculation of dispersion, minimizing the loss, verifying the refractive index [13 14, 15] of the material used etc. Since Photonic crystal fibers [10]-[15] have various properties among them the above mentioned are widely used to calculate and measure in every design and structure. In this paper we tried to compare the above mentioned properties of various materials like the conventional material of PCF [10]–[11] is Silica Glass [1]–[2], borosilicate crown glass (BK7) [3], chalcogenide glass [4]–[5], Borofloat glass [6], GE 124 & NSG OZ, Vycor [7]–[8] and Soda Lime [9]. Apart from the mentioned properties we have also considered some other physical and chemical properties of these materials. To compare all these properties of these materials we used to refer various articles and research papers then finally concluded that all the three material have their own merits and demerits and they shows their properties in best manner for the selected wavelength region. We have prepared various tables with the data collected and draw graphs between them to show the variation of these parameters for various material used.

01 Jan 2019TL;DR: This paper implements bi-level discrete particle swarm optimization (BL-DPSO), an efficient discrete PSO variant for multiple sequence alignment (MSA) problem of nucleotides, and proves the competency of BL-D PSO at accuracy aspects.
Abstract: This paper implements bi-level discrete particle swarm optimization (BL-DPSO), an efficient discrete PSO variant for multiple sequence alignment (MSA) problem of nucleotides. Level one works on optimizing dimension for entire swarm, i.e., obtaining the optimal sequence length, whereas level two works for optimizing each and every particles position, i.e., to attain optimum gap positions for maximum alignment score. Set-theory based position and velocity update strategies are implemented in the proposed BL-DPSO. The capability of the proposed approach is evaluated with three standard scoring schemes at specific parameters with two types of benchmark datasets of DNA and RNA. BL-DPSO alignments are compared with four PSO variants, i.e., S-PSO, M-PSO, CPSO-S\(_k\), and TL-PSO, and two leading alignment software, i.e., ClustalW and T-Coffee, at different alignment scores. Obtained results prove the competency of BL-DPSO at accuracy aspects.

01 Oct 2017TL;DR: Simulation results verify the theoretical analysis and the effectiveness of the mentioned methods with regard to the level shifted modulation carrier pulse width modulation.
Abstract: Different topologies of multilevel inverters can be observed, and one of them is T-type topology. It has a very simple structure combined of two-level inverter and of three-level neutral point clamped inverter. This paper deals with the level shifted modulation carrier pulse width modulation. Simulation results verify the theoretical analysis and the effectiveness of the mentioned methods.
