TL;DR: In this article, the analysis and Matlab Simulation results for 24-12V buck converter based on resonant or soft switching approach were revealed for overcoming the issues of parasitic constituents in 24 12V DC-DC stepdown (buck) converter.
Abstract: DC-DC converters preserve or control the output DC voltage. Due to parasitic constituents such as leakage capacitance of both diode and inductor, and transformer leakage inductance, DC-DC converters mostly operate on rigid switching conditions which result in high switching losses. These parasitic constituents affect the dc-dc converter’s operational reliability, instigate electromagnetic interference issues and limit the converter’s operation at higher frequency operations. In this paper, resonant or soft-switch approach has been employed to improve the operating performance and design-oriented principle investigations have been carried out for overcoming the issues of parasitic constituents in 24-12V DC-DC step-down (buck) converter. This paper divulges the analysis and Matlab Simulation results for 24-12V buck converter based on resonant or soft-switching approach.

TL;DR: It has been observed that proposed SFS/PID approach with ITAE as an objective function gives no overshoot and other parameters such as; settling time and rise time are also comparable with other existing techniques.
Abstract: The authors present an application of Stochastic Fractal Search (SFS) algorithm in control of DC motor. SFS algorithm uses the concept of Fractal. Here, integration of time multiplied absolute error (ITAE) has been taken as an objective function for tuning the parameters of PID controller by SFS algorithm. Comparison of proposed scheme (SFS/PID) with other existing techniques has also been shown. It has been observed that proposed SFS/PID approach with ITAE as an objective function gives no overshoot and other parameters such as; settling time and rise time are also comparable with other existing techniques. Also, the robustness analysis of proposed SFS/PID scheme has also been carried out with parameters' variation of DC motor along with the comparative analysis.

TL;DR: This paper completely analyzes the basic distributed clustering routing protocol LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy), then studies the impact of heterogeneity in energy of nodes to prolong the life time of WSN.
Abstract: Wireless Sensor Networks are networks of large number of tiny, battery powered sensor nodes having limited on-board storage, processing, and radio capabilities. Nodes sense and send their reports toward a processing center which is called “sink or base station.” Since this transmission and reception process consumes lots of energy as compare to data processing, Designing protocols and applications for such networks has to be energy aware in order to prolong the lifetime of the network. Generally, real life applications deal with Heterogeneity rather than Homogeneity. In this paper, a protocol is proposed, which is heterogeneous in energy. We first completely analyzes the basic distributed clustering routing protocol LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy), which is a homogeneous system, then we study the impact of heterogeneity in energy of nodes to prolong the life time of WSN. Simulation results using MATLAB shows that the proposed Leach-heterogeneous system significantly reduces energy consumption and increase the total lifetime of the wireless sensor network.

TL;DR: In the proposed system, the completeness of waste in the dustbins is checked with the help of Sensors used in the system, and information is sent to the required control room through GSM/GPRS system.
Abstract: Solid waste generated is an ever growing problem at local regions or at global levels. There is proper disposal of solid wastes pollute all the components of the green environment (i.e., air, land and water) at regional and global levels. Since there is rapid increase in producing or consumptions, quantity of wastes generated by the urban society has increased. The problem is more faced in the developing countries than in developed countries, as the economic growth as well as urbanization is more rapid. The continuous flow of garbage in all places where public people move around creates the unhygienic situations. It may invoke several injurious diseases among the nearby people. To avoid such a situation and to improve the cleaning, ‘smart waste management system’ is proposed. In the proposed system, the completeness of waste in the dustbins is checked with the help of Sensors used in the system, and information is sent to the required control room through GSM/GPRS system. Renesas Microcontroller is used to communicate the sensor system with GSM system. An android application is been designed to monitor the information related to the waste for different selected locations. Through this the collection of garbage can be made efficiently.
