01 Jan 2014TL;DR: Experimental results show that proposed scheme can efficiently optimize the number of cluster heads for clustering of nodes in wireless sensor networks.
Abstract: Clustering of sensor nodes is an energy efficient approach to extend lifetime of wireless sensor networks. It organizes the sensor nodes in independent clusters. Clustering of sensor nodes avoids the long distance communication of nodes and hence prolongs the network functioning time. The number of cluster heads is an important aspect for energy efficient clustering of nodes because total intra-cluster communication distance and total distance of cluster heads to base station depends upon number of cluster heads. In this paper, we have used genetic algorithms for optimizing the number of cluster heads while taking trade-off between total intra-cluster distance and total distance of cluster heads to base station. Experimental results show that proposed scheme can efficiently optimize the number of cluster heads for clustering of nodes in wireless sensor networks.

01 Jul 2018TL;DR: An automatic system to detect severity of cracks is presented, designed to output a risk prediction score based on the segments of a crack, which can be helpful to decide any further actions to be taken once the crack is detected.
Abstract: Detection of cracks in concrete is highly recommended in early stages of construction to avoid potential hazards later. Need for automatic detection through image capturing and processing is rising. Till date only classifiers to detect cracks based on image processing have been designed. This paper presents an automatic system to detect severity of cracks. Every captured image of a crack is segmented through clustering. A fuzzy inference system is designed to output a risk prediction score based on the segments. This score can be helpful to decide any further actions to be taken once the crack is detected.

01 Oct 2019TL;DR: In this article, an isolated microgrid consisting of an EV charging station and multiple RESs is used for charging of electric vehicles and relation between vehicle and grid is discussed. But the main focus of this paper is charging of the electric vehicle and the relation between vehicles and grid.
Abstract: In the present scenario where the power system uses the fossil fuels and conventional energy resources for fulfilling the consumers demand, to decrease this penetration and as per environmental concern the use of renewable energy sources is the only option. After this adaption the environmental and economic concerns are highly effective in positive way. Towards the new advancement adaption in this paper simulation study of an isolated microgrid consisting electrical vehicle (EV) charging station and multiple RESs. This isolated microgrid consist 15 MW diesel generator, 4.5 MW wind farm, 8MW PV farm and 10 MW residential load. In this paper main focus is charging of electric vehicle and relation between vehicle and grid. The study of model is done over a day (24 hour). Various and impactful results are discussed in this paper which are got after simulation of model. In this paper charging station has capacity of 5 profile of Vehicles. Moreover, the high penetration pf RESs reduced the GHG emissions.

TL;DR: In this article, the pathway fractional integral formulae for incomplete I-functions were investigated and their special cases, which are in the form of recognize functions such as incomplete $$\overline{I}$$ -functions, incomplete $$/overline {H}$$ −functions and incomplete H-fun functions, were examined.
Abstract: In this present study, our aim is to investigate the pathway fractional integral formulae for the incomplete I-functions. Further, we also examine their special cases, which are in the form of recognize functions such as incomplete $$\overline{I}$$
-functions, incomplete $$\overline{H}$$
-functions and incomplete H-functions. Findings connected with the fractional integral operator $$\mathcal {I}_{0+}^{\sigma }$$
of Riemann-Liouville type are also viewed as limiting cases of the main results.

01 Dec 2017TL;DR: In this paper, the air changes per hour (ACH) and air exit velocity are optimized for a vertical solar chimney attached to a chamber of size 1m × 1m-1m-2m.
Abstract: Solar chimney is one of the solar passive technique to improve ventilation rate. In the present study, air changes per hour(ACH) and air exit velocity are optimized for a vertical solar chimney attached to a chamber of size 1m × 1m × 1m. Five operating and design parameters (air gap, glazing material, season, window to wall ratio, and orientation of window) are considered at mixed levels in Taguchi method. An orthogonal array of L32 is obtained to run the experimental trials using FLUENT software. The best case to achieve higher ACH rate is A1-B1-C1-D2-E1 and for maximum exit velocity the best case is A1-B1-C1-D1-E1. It is also noticed that the best window orientation is east and window to wall ratio(WWR) is 0.2 i.e. window of size 500mm × 400mm. The air gap of 0.1m & 0.2m is most suitable for having maximum exit velocity and ACH rate, respectively. The ACH rate did not falls below 3.53 in different seasons for Jaipur, India. It is also observed that the glazing material not have significant effect on the performance, therefore, glass can be replaced by acrylic sheet as it have more impact resistance than glass.
