01 Jan 2021TL;DR: In this paper, the use of mustard and cotton waste as biomass feedstock to gasifier for energy production is studied and the developed model is validated with four different types of feedstock, i.e., neem wood, babool wood, mango wood and bagasse.
Abstract: In today’s world, it is necessary to find out environment friendly energy sources to meet the increasing demand. India is having a major portion of power extraction through the thermal sources which are costlier and degrading the environment condition. Biomass energy sources can be used for the solution of power demand increment and environment problems. India has a huge potential of mustard and cotton agriculture waste. This paper has studied the use of mustard and cotton waste as biomass feedstock to gasifier for energy production. The authors have presented a biomass gasifier model by using the Aspen Plus software. The developed model is validated with four different types of feedstock, i.e., neem wood, babool wood, mango wood and bagasse. The developed model has under estimated the CH4 and well-predicted composition of CO, H2 and CO2. The validated model is used to perform sensitive analysis of mustard and cotton waste biomass using Aspen Plus.

TL;DR: An approach is presented to minimize effects of grid disturbances on utility network with wind energy and improve the performance by application of battery storage device incorporated in to the dc link capacitor of Distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM).
Abstract: Penetration Level of wind energy in utility grid is continuously increasing and achieved significant level compared to the conventional generators. Most of the wind mills uses doubly induction generator (DFIG). The power electronic converters used for interfacing DFIG based generators to utility network are non-linear in nature. Further, variability of wind energy generation also deteriorates quality of power in grid. Any disturbance developed in the grid affects system parameters and power flow due to non-linearity of system and variability of wind generation. This enforces to take suitable action to minimize effects of disturbances on the grid parameters to improve the performance of network in presence of wind generation. In this paper an approach is presented to minimize effects of grid disturbances on utility network with wind energy and improve the performance. This is achieved by application of battery storage device incorporated in to the dc link capacitor of Distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM). DSTATCOM control is implemented with the help of synchronous reference frame theory. This helps in optimized exchange of active and reactive powers between utility grid and dc bus. Test network consisting of five buses, one generator, loads and one wind generator rated at 1.5 MW is utilized to establish effectiveness of proposed scheme.

07 Apr 2016TL;DR: The aim of this paper is to detect value of battery models at different-2 iteration of harmony search algorithm and to know the performance of this battery through experimentations test.
Abstract: In this paper describe a harmony search algorithm which is applied on battery. This paper, deal with the li-ion battery model with dc machine application. From modeling and simulation, the battery parameters are designed like a state of charge (SOC), battery power (P), battery current (i bat ) and battery voltage (VOC). The outcomes of li ion battery are optimized using harmony search algorithm in the domestic application. The first resolution of this paper is to know the performance of this battery through experimentations test. The second aim of this paper is to detect value of battery models at different-2 iteration of harmony search algorithm. In this paper, all results are verified in MATLAB R2010a.

01 Oct 2019TL;DR: This paper presents the different methodologies for the selection of weighting function and proposes numerous guidelines for the choice weighting functions which is used for the controller synthesis.
Abstract: The concept of $H_{\infty}$ norm optimization is well known and this method is widely used in several design examples. Though, in the controller synthesis there are numerous guidelines for the choice weighting functions which is used for the controller synthesis. This paper is apprehensive with different features to resolve the weighting functions. Designing a $H_{\infty}$ controller is not an easy task. To design a robust controller for guarantee robustness and performance, selection of a weighting function has very important role. This paper presents the different methodologies for the selection of weighting function.

TL;DR: In this paper, an Energy-Efficient Hybrid Hierarchical Clustering Algorithm that performs the characteristics of static and dynamic clustering formation has been presented, which performs by two processes, viz, a) cluster head selection using fuzzy C-Mean (FCM) approach and shortest route path finding using Reliable Cluster-based Energy-aware Routing protocol.
Abstract: An advancement made in wireless technologies has developed a greater impact over the Internet of Things (IoT) systems. Clustering is one of the efficient approaches that connects and organizes the sensor nodes by balancing the loads and maximizing the lifespan of the network. This paper presents an Energy-Efficient Hybrid Hierarchical Clustering Algorithm that performs the characteristics of static and dynamic clustering formation. The proposed algorithm performs by two processes, viz, a) cluster head selection using fuzzy C-Mean (FCM) approach and shortest route path finding using Reliable Cluster-based Energy-aware Routing protocol. The main characteristics is the improvement done in the cluster formation and selection. The designed protocol is simulated using a programming language, NS2 and the performance measures studied are packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay, and energy utilization. The results have stated that the developed HHCA approach outperforms better than the AODV protocol.
