TL;DR: A modified variant of SMOA that is based on an exponential adaptive strategy for step size that proves the competence of EASMO in the field of SI-based strategies.
Abstract: Spider monkey optimization algorithm (SMOA) is one of the powerful techniques in the arena of swarm intelligence (SI)-based strategies. This article proposes a modified variant of SMOA that is based on an exponential adaptive strategy for step size. During the search of the optimal solution, this exponential strategy is used to adjust the step size so that it can speed up the convergence ability of the swarm. The proposed algorithm is termed as exponential adaptive spider monkey optimization (EASMO) algorithm. This evinced algorithm is tested over 14 standard optimization problems to examine its authenticity. Further, the obtained results are compared with the artificial bee colony (ABC), differential evolution (DE), Gbest-guided artificial bee colony (GABC), particle swarm optimization (PSO), SMOA, and three of its momentous variants, namely levy flight SMOA (LFSMOA), modified limacon SMOA (MLSMOA), and power law-based local search in SMOA (PLSMOA). The analysis of the results proved the competence of EASMO in the field of SI-based strategies.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the evolution, history, and definition of cloud computing and also present a comprehensive analysis of the cloud computing by explaining its services and deployment models, and identifying various characteristics of concern.
Abstract: Internet has been a driving force towards the various technologies that have been developed. Arguably, one of the most discussed among all of these is Cloud Computing. Cloud computing is seen as a trend in the present day scenario with almost all the organizations trying to make an entry into it. It is a promising and emerging technology for the next generation of IT applications. This paper presents the evolution, history, and definition of cloud computing and also presents a comprehensive analysis of the cloud computing by explaining its services and deployment models, and identifying various characteristics of concern.

TL;DR: The proposal can be adapted in a framework where dataset keeps growing and number of clusters is decided within the algorithm to achieve balanced clustering without affecting the time complexity.
Abstract: k-Means is a very popular clustering algorithm. We modify its objective to achieve a clustering method which produces more balanced clusters. The proposal can be adapted in a framework where dataset keeps growing and number of clusters is decided within the algorithm to achieve balanced clustering. This is done without affecting the time complexity. Experimental results are in favor of the proposal.

TL;DR: This paper introduces an economical Solar Photovoltaic water pumping system using induction motor drive (IMD) for stand-alone application like water irrigation in rural area and its performance is simulated using MATLAB/ Simulink software.
Abstract: This paper introduces an economical Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) water pumping system using induction motor drive (IMD) for stand-alone application like water irrigation in rural area. This system consists of two stages of power conversion. In thel firstl stage, a DC-DCl Boostl converterl is employedl to extract the maximum power from SPV array and the second stage involves voltage source inverter (VSI) for the conversion of DC bus voltage into AC to drive the induction motor (IM). A scalar volt/Hertz control method is used to control the speed of IM. It controls the speed of motor such that the DC bus voltage is retained constantly. This regulation reduces the motor losses by decreasing the motor current at high value of voltage for the same power rating. This system eliminates the need for speed sensors and stator current sensor of the motor. The reference speed for scalar volt/hertz control method is generated by the proposed control scheme. This control scheme also provides a feed-forward speed to improve the dynamic response of the system. A Perturb and Observe (P&O) based maximum power tracking (MPPT) algorithm is used to control the duty ratio of Boost converter. The proposed system is designed and its performance is simulated using MATLAB/ Simulink software.

TL;DR: This paper covers the reviews of HPFC for developing the accomplishment of power system and uses one topology based HPFC Controller which established performance of voltage, real power, reactive power, and THD with better results.
Abstract: The demand of consumer side is rising day to day so we choose FACTS technology for resulting utilize performance of the system. HPFC is the convenient device like UPFC that detect individually as well as discriminatively operating characteristics throughout actual controllers. The major defect of UPFC is high-priced from HPFC because of its full rating (MVA) VSC's converter. So, the HPFC is economically better than UPFC. This paper covers the reviews of HPFC for developing the accomplishment of power system. Here we used one topology of HPFC which results by- two VSC's in shunt and series passive component between the tie-lines. The models are implemented on MATLAB/SIMULINK 16(b). This topology based HPFC Controller established performance of voltage, real power, reactive power, and THD with better results.
