TL;DR: In this article, three types of PWM pulses (synchronized pulses, independent pulses, and interleaved pulses), applied to switches, are employed to extract maximum power from a photo voltaic (PV) generator.
Abstract: Maximization of power, which depends on solar irradiation and temperature conditions, from a photo voltaic (PV) generator is of special interest as the efficiency of the PV module is very low. A maximum power tracker is used for extracting the maximum power from the generator. To be effective with cellular converter architecture, however, a scheme must be able to accommodate a varying number of cells and maintain operation under any climate conditions. Three types of PWM pulses (synchronized pulses, independent pulses, and interleaved pulses), applied to switches, to extract maximum power from PV generator are employed. Quantitative performance comparisons are being presented among synchronized pulses, independent pulses, and interleaved pulses of the converter cells. Simulation is done in MATLAB simulink environment.

TL;DR: Based on the propulsion system of fuel cell based electric vehicle, motoring and regenerative braking control phenomena are discussed in detail and proposed topologies are designed to run three phase induction motor drive of 5.4 HP.
Abstract: In this paper, the regenerative braking phenomena of induction motor in fuel cell vehicle is presented. Based on the propulsion system of fuel cell based electric vehicle, motoring and regenerative braking control phenomena are discussed in detail. Simulation in MATLAB is performed to verify the regenerative braking proposed approach. Uniqueness of this paper can be explained in the term of efficiently storing the regenerative braking energy as well as lowering system THD. In this paper, proposed topologies are designed to run three phase induction motor drive of 5.4 HP. Proposed topology is presented in this paper with 3.35 % phase voltage THD and 9.02 % phase current THD.

TL;DR: In this article, a WDM channel having 8 * 20 Giga bits per second link capacity has been analyzed using pre compensation, post compensation and symmetric compensation with different encoding schemes (NRZ and RZ).
Abstract: Optical Fiber Communication is the rapidly evolving form of communication for long haul applications. Due to its compact size, low losses and versatile application, it is significantly used in thousands of kilometers of distance. But the major limiting factor of using fiber technology is Dispersion. It causes pulse broadening due to multiple signals propagation in Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) network and leads to inter-symbol interference. To overcome the effects of dispersion, many dispersion compensation technologies has been adopted. Dispersion Compensation Fiber (DCF) is one of the compensation scheme used in fiber optics. In this paper, a WDM channel having 8 * 20 Giga bits per second link capacity has been analyzed using pre compensation, post compensation and symmetric compensation with different encoding schemes(NRZ and RZ). The results are investigated in terms of Quality factor (Q-factor) and Bit Error Rate (BER). The simulation is carried out in OptiSystem 7 simulator.

TL;DR: Control technique for extracting three-phase reference currents for shunt active power filters are compared, evaluating their performance with PID Controllers and active reactive current control theory gives better simulation results than active reactive power theory.
Abstract: Control technique for extracting three-phase reference currents for shunt active power filters are compared, evaluating their performance with PID Controllers. During past several year’s power electronics-based load connected for low and medium voltage in power distribution system are increase rapidly and these load draw non-sinusoidal current from mains and reduce power quality by causing harmonic distortion. Harmonics removal is important issue and effective way to compensate harmonics is Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF). Shunt active power filtering is effective and its performance depends upon control strategies used for reference current generation. There are several number of control techniques for reference current generation have been developed. This paper present comparative study of two control technique first one is active reactive power theory and second one is active reactive current control theory. Both techniques are analyzed mathematically and simulated in MATLAB platform. It is evaluated considering total harmonic distortion (THD). Active reactive current control theory gives better simulation results than active reactive power theory.

TL;DR: Experimental results proved the potency of proposed demand side management strategies in terms of cost savings and reduced peak load demand.
Abstract: Demand response (DR) keeps up a significant contribution to the growth of electricity generation with transmission and distribution in the phase of advanced grid automation. For future smart grid, basically, two types of demand side management (DSM) strategies have been used with many shiftable or controllable loads. In this research paper, a metaheuristic-based gray wolf optimization (GWO) has been used for solving minimization problem in DSM. A test smart grid is taken into consideration to test the efficacy of the proposed strategy which contains two service areas as residential area and commercial area. The potency of GWO is proved by confrontation with the whale optimization algorithm (WOA) and moth–flame optimization (MFO). These experimental results proved the potency of proposed demand side management strategies in terms of cost savings and reduced peak load demand.
