11 Feb 2015TL;DR: A novel unsupervised algorithm for detecting outliers based on density by coupling two principles: first, kernel density estimation and second assigning an outlier score to each object is proposed.
Abstract: In sensor network, data generated by various sensors deployed at different locations need to be analyzed in order to identify interesting events correspond to outliers. The presence of outliers may distort contained information. To ensure that the information is correctly extracted, it is necessary to identify the outliers and isolate them during knowledge extraction phase. In this paper, we propose a novel unsupervised algorithm for detecting outliers based on density by coupling two principles: first, kernel density estimation and second assigning an outlier score to each object. A new kernel function building a smoother version of density estimate is proposed. An outlier score is assigned to each object by comparing local density estimate of each object to its neighbors. The two steps provide a framework for outlier detection that can be easily applied to discover new or unusual types of outliers. Experiments performed on synthetic and real datasets suggest that the proposed approach can detect outliers precisely and achieve high recall rates which in turn demonstrate the potency of the proposed approach.

TL;DR: In this article, a hybrid technique of PTS and CP is proposed for PAPR reduction in MIMO-OFDM systems with 2×2 number of antennas, which has been observed that the proposed technique has better performance for peak to average power ratio reduction.
Abstract: Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) may be combined with antenna arrays at the transmitter and receiver side to increase the diversity gain and system competence on time variant along with the frequency selective channels, which results in a multiple-input multiple-output composition. The major drawback in case of MIMO-OFDM is its high value of Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) which causes to frequency spread spectrum along with the in-band distortion. This is due to the presence of nonlinearity in the high power amplifiers. In this paper, a hybrid technique of PTS and CP is proposed for PAPR reduction. Using the QAM modulated MIMO-OFDM systems and 2×2 number of antennas, it has been observed that the proposed technique has better performance for PAPR reduction.

01 Oct 2016TL;DR: This work is based on switching between different filters (having different numbers of passbands) that have passband frequencies of mobile communication and aeronautical radio navigation applications and can be changed by changing designing parameters.
Abstract: Now a days multi-band and multi-service applications are increased so need of reconfigurable components is increased. Proposed single design can play role of single-band, dual-band, tri-band or quad-band BPF as the configurations of switching devices are changed. This work is based on switching between different filters (having different numbers of passbands). Designed filters have passband frequencies of mobile communication and aeronautical radio navigation applications and can be changed by changing designing parameters. Designing and simulation of proposed microstrip filter structure is performed on commercial software CST microwave studio. Alumina (Epsilon e r = 9.9) sheet of height 0.5mm is used as substrate material.

01 Feb 2019TL;DR: A multi-hop energy consumption model and a variant of depth-based routing protocol for underwater sensor networks employing MI communication and results show that Modified depth based routing improves packet delivery ratio and end-to-end delay in comparison to Depth Based Routing.
Abstract: Magnetic induction has emerged as a new communication paradigm by addressing several disadvantages of previous communication ways in Underwater wireless sensor networks. Energy consumption and routing are critical issues in UWSN devices as the devices are battery powered and are expected to operate for a very long time and routing algorithms disagree with the modification in communication methodology. In this paper, we proposed a multi-hop energy consumption model and a variant of depth-based routing protocol for underwater sensor networks employing MI communication. Proposed energy consumption model defines energy consumption in terms of distance among coils and number of hops between sender and receiver coils. Modified Depth Based Routing uses depth, residual energy information in routing decision. Simulation results show that Modified depth based routing improves packet delivery ratio and end-to-end delay in comparison to Depth Based Routing.

01 Nov 2016TL;DR: In this article, a prefeasibility study for solar PV system design calculation and potential assessment for residential non-teaching staff colony in the campus of Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota, India.
Abstract: This paper present a prefeasibility study for solar PV system design calculation and potential assessment for residential non-teaching staff colony in the campus of Rajasthan Technical University(RTU), Kota, Rajasthan, India. This study show a 45 kW solar photovoltaic system with three different configuration which is grid connected with 0% backup, grid connected with 30% backup and third one is, off grid system or 100% backup, can generate sufficient amount of electrical power as compare to consumption and mitigate the energy consumption from grid supply as well as reduce the grid dependence. Financial analysis of these systems by assuming some parameters is also done in this study.
