01 Dec 2017TL;DR: This paper presents hybrid of DE with levy flight search strategy, the anticipated algorithm tested over a set of benchmark problems to demonstrate its superiority over other popular modification of DE.
Abstract: Differential Evolution (DE) is an evolutionary approach to unravel complex optimization problems. The DE is a straight forward and very popular population based stochastic Algorithm. DE outperformed other competitive evolutionary algorithms when measured over benchmark problem as well as actual optimization problems in terms of performance. The major drawback of DE is early convergence and stagnation at sub-optimal points, like other stochastic optimization algorithms. So as to overcome these problems this paper presents hybrid of DE with levy flight search strategy. The anticipated algorithm tested over a set of benchmark problems to demonstrate its superiority over other popular modification of DE.

11 Jul 2018TL;DR: This paper employs feed-forward ANN with back-propagation algorithm in evolving the fault detector & classifier to classify and detect a fault on power transmission line and reports that the performance of the technologically advanced intellectual classifier detector is acceptable.
Abstract: The ANN is a potent tool for the classification and detection of the faults on the transmission line due to pattern recognition ability. This paper centers on progressing an ANN to classify and detect a fault on power transmission line. The study employs feed-forward ANN with back-propagation algorithm in evolving the fault detector & classifier. Simulation and modelling of transmission lines was done in MATLAB using simpowersystems Toolbox. The instant currents and voltage numeric are taken after training the fault classifier & detector. Simulation results have been delivered to determine the effectiveness of the technologically advanced intellectual detector & classifier for fault. The performance of the classifier & detector is assessed by the Mean Square Error (MSE) and confusion matrix. The detector attained a tolerable MSE of 8.5571e-7 and accuracy of 100%. The classifier attained a tolerable MSE of 0.63035 and accuracy of 88%, presenting that the performance of the technologically advanced intellectual classifier detector is acceptable.

TL;DR: In this paper, the dielectric pocket (DP) technology has been employed in the Gate-All-Around (GAA) MOSFETs to improve the scalability and performance of the device.
Abstract: In the present paper, the dielectric pocket (DP) technology has been employed in the Gate-All-Around (GAA) MOSFETs to improve the scalability and performance of the device. The upgraded immunity towards short-channel effects (SCEs) and elevation in the device analog/RF performance is demonstrated through comparison between Gate-All-Around (GAA) and dielectric pocket Gate-All-Around (DPGAA) at the 20 nm channel length with temperature variation from 200 K to 400 K by using the Sentaurus three-dimensional (3D) simulator.

TL;DR: Improvement in performance of small-scale solar paraboloidal dish–thermoelectric generator (SPD-TEG) system was observed due to increment in temperature difference between hot side and cold side of TEG modules.
Abstract: Solar energy is one of the major sources of renewable energy which contributes for environmental protection and pollution reduction Methods and technologies to utilize concentrated solar energy have been the subject of research and development for a number of decades In the present study, experimental investigations were carried out for improving the performance of small-scale solar paraboloidal dish–thermoelectric generator (SPD-TEG) system For this, SPD collector was fabricated using a satellite dish antenna fitted with aluminum foil as concentrating surface The receiver unit consists of TEG module was modified for realistic outdoor conditions by using low-cost waste materials The performance of two different TEG modules, ie, TEC1-12706 and SP1848-27145, was evaluated and compared in terms of absorber plate (hot side) temperature, power output, and efficiency obtained with SPD-TEG system during the months of May and June It was observed that the temperature difference between receiver plate and heat sink is significantly affecting the power output With TEC1-12706 module, voltage and power was obtained as 19 V and 0665 W, respectively, whereas these values were 34 V and 1836 W, respectively, in case of SP1848-27145 module The efficiency of the SPD was obtained up to 4416% and 521% in the months of May and June, respectively The combined efficiencies of the SPD-TEG system with TEC1-12706 module and SP1848-27145 module were found up to 023% and 063%, respectively The improvement in performance of SPD-TEG system was observed due to increment in temperature difference between hot side and cold side of TEG modules

TL;DR: A modified variant of ABC, namely Black Hole ABC algorithm (BHABC) is proposed which is based on the natural space black hole (BH) phenomenon, which gives a high exploration ability while maintaining the original exploitation ability of the ABC algorithm.
Abstract: Artificial bee colony (ABC) is an efficient methodology to solve optimization problems. Here, in this article a modified variant of ABC, namely Black Hole ABC algorithm (BHABC) is proposed which is based on the natural space black hole (BH) phenomenon. In BHABC, the implementation of BH gives a high exploration ability while maintaining the original exploitation ability of the ABC algorithm. The suggested algorithm is judged against 12 benchmark test functions and accessed with original ABC and its two modifications, that are Best So Far ABC (BSFABC) and Modified ABC (MABC). The results reveals that BHABC is a competitive variant of ABC.
