07 Dec 1978TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a process and apparatus for extracting the products of kerogen in situ from an oil shale body by supplying energy selectively to the kerogen by high frequency electric fields in the frequency range between 100 kilohertz and 1000 megahertz at an intensity which heats the kerogen to a temperature range between 250° C and 500° C.
Abstract: The process and apparatus for extracting the products of kerogen in situ from an oil shale body by supplying energy selectively to the kerogen by high frequency electric fields in the frequency range between 100 kilohertz and 1000 megahertz at an intensity which heats the kerogen to a temperature range between 250° C. and 500° C. to allow pyrolysis of the kerogen prior to substantial heat transfer to the surrounding mineral portions of the oil shale.

23 Dec 2004TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a system that includes a sight that facilitates weapon orientation in preparation to fire the munition, the sight having an analog indicator that is disposed within its field of view and that is responsive to the electronic control portion for indicating how to orient the weapon so that the target will hit the target.
Abstract: A device has structure that can support the device on a weapon, and a range portion that specifies a range to a target. A sensor portion provides sensor information representing an orientation of the device, and an electronic control portion is responsive to sensor information from the sensor portion and a range from the range portion for calculating how to hit the target with a munition. The device includes a sight that facilitates weapon orientation in preparation to fire the munition, the sight having an analog indicator that is disposed within its field of view and that is responsive to the electronic control portion for indicating how to orient the weapon so that the munition will hit the target.

07 Jun 1995TL;DR: An RF flexible printed wiring board transmission line for connecting strip transmission line microwave assemblies without the use of coaxial connectors and coaxial cables was proposed in this article, where the flexible transmission line includes a thin flexible dielectric ribbon, having on one side a ground plane layer and on the other side a microstrip conductor strip.
Abstract: An RF flexible printed wiring board transmission line for connecting strip transmission line microwave assemblies without the use of coaxial connectors and coaxial cables. The flexible transmission line includes a thin flexible dielectric ribbon, having on one side a ground plane layer and on the other side a microstrip conductor strip. Plated through holes at the ends of the flexible line provide access to both the ground plane and conductor strip on the same side of the flexible line, to facilitate interconnection of the microwave assemblies to the flexible line. The flexible line operates at microwave frequencies with little or no radiation leakage.

30 Oct 1984TL;DR: In this paper, variable length instruction and data words composed of multiple bytes are stored in a block of addressable locations in a memory so that individual bytes of each word are aligned in columns.
Abstract: A random access memory having the capability to access one or more bytes in one or more memory word locations of a multi-byte memory array within one memory cycle. Variable length instruction and data words composed of multiple bytes are stored in a block of addressable locations in a memory so that individual bytes of each word are aligned in columns. Each column of bytes is addressable independently of the other byte columns via adders. A most significant bit portion of a memory location address is fed into a first input of column adders and the output of a first decoder circuit is fed into a second input of the adders for address incrementing within one memory cycle. A second decoder circuit generates a separate read or write enable line to each column of bytes. Both decoders are controlled by a least significant bit portion of the memory address and reference word byte size codes. A bi-directional multiplexer rearranges the order of the bytes so they appear in the proper order at the memory interface.
