Abstract: The frequency of food allergies is not sufficiently appreciated because they are difficult to investigate. This is because the reactions are subjective and hard to verify. Almost all of the reported prevalence rates are from industrialized countries, and they vary from four to 30 per cent. The following paper indicates that food allergies must also be taken into account in nutrition advice in developing countries.

Abstract: The menaquinone composition of some species of the genus Micrococcus was analysed by high performance liquid chromatography. Both unsaturated and hydrogenated menaquinones were detected. Micrococcus kristinae, M. lylae and M. nishinomiyaensis contained hydrogenated menaquinones while M. sedentarius contained unsaturated menaquinone. The predominant menaquinone isoprenologues of these species are MK-7 (H 2 ), MK-8 (H 2 ), MK-8 (H 2 ) and MK-8, respectively. These observations confirm further the heterogeneity of the genus

Abstract: One of the constitutional challenges of regional integration is how to manage the limitation of national judicial sovereignty of Member States to ensure that community law is recognized as superior to national law and accordingly applied and interpreted by national courts at the instance of community citizens. This challenge arises from the national ordering of legal systems and the fact that States are the primary parties to agreements wherein they limit their sovereignty in favour of the community for its success. This paper examines the enforceability of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Law in the national courts of the West African States that are state parties of the ECOWAS with the aim of determining how this affects the integration goals of ECOWAS.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to empirically examine the association of Supervisors’ Toxicity and Subordinates’ Counter-productive Work-behaviour in the Nigerian Public Hospitals. Counter-productive Work -behaviour (criterion variable) is further operationalized using five measures – abuse, production deviation, sabotage, theft, and withdrawal. The cross-sectional survey design is adopted and data is generated using the structured questionnaire. 197 respondents comprising doctors, nursing staff, lab technicians and other administrative staff selected from an accessible population of 402 staff provided responses to the questions. A total of five hypotheses are proposed and tested using descriptive and inferential statistical tools. Results indicate significant relationships in all hypothetical instances, thereby implying an association between Supervisors’ Toxicity and Subordinates’ Counter-productive Work- behavior. The study therefore concludes that Subordinates are quick to reciprocate Supervisors’ Toxicity through Counter-productive Work- behavior of transferring aggression to either peers or other identifiable assets of the organization. The study further recommends a more emotionally oriented approach to the management of superior-subordinate relationships with emphasis on the training and retraining of supervisors regarding emotional intelligence as well as conflict and human relations issues.
