TL;DR: The prevalence rate of POICs was low and Depot Medroxyprogesterone acetate was more popular and Majority of the discontinuation was due to the side effects of the contraceptives.
Abstract: Background: Progesterone only injectable contraceptives (POICs) are long acting reversible method of contraception used worldwide. Menstrual abnormalities are recognized side effects that can lead to discontinuation of these highly effective and safe contraceptives. Objectives: To determine the prevalence rate, side effects, discontinuation rate and indications for discontinuation of Norethisteroneenanthate (noristerat) and Depot Medroxyprogesterone acetate (depoprovera) at Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Port Harcourt. Methods: A five year retrospective study of 874 clients attending family planning clinic at the RSUTH from 1 st of January, 2015 – 31 st of December, 2019. Their records were retrieved from the clinic and reviewed. Data was extracted, coded and analyzed using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) IBM version 25.0 (Armonk, NY). Chi square test was used as test of significance where applicable and a p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: One hundred and thirty eight clients accepted and used POICs out of 874 acceptors of contraceptives within the study period giving a prevalence rate of 15.8%. Original Research Article Ijeoma and Solomon; AJMAH, 18(10): 110-117, 2020; Article no.AJMAH.61753 111 Depot Medroxyprogesterone acetate was more preferred by the women. The modal age group was 25-34 years accounting for 86 (62.3%). Age range was 19-48 years and the modal parity was para 2. Majority of the clients had formal education, 137 (99.3%), married, 128 (92.8%) and multipara 85 (61.6%).The discontinuation rate was 31.9%and the commonest reason for discontinuation was irregular vaginal bleeding accounting for 25%. Conclusion: The prevalence rate of POICs was low and Depot Medroxyprogesterone acetate was more popular. Majority of the discontinuation was due to the side effects of the contraceptives.

TL;DR: Enefiok et al. as discussed by the authors examined the relationship between self-awareness and human relations policy implementation of manufacturing companies in Port Harcourt, Nigeria using a cross-sectional survey design.
Abstract: This study examined the relationship between self- awareness and human relations policy implementation of manufacturing companies in Port Harcourt . The study adopted a cross-sectional survey design. Primary data was generated through self-administered questionnaire. The population of the study was 106 employees from 16 manufacturing companies in Port Harcourt while the sample size of 84 was determined by the Taro Yamene’s formula. The reliability of the instrument was achieved by the use of the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient with a benchmark of 0.70 as a minimum threshold. The hypotheses were tested using the Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 23.0. The tests were carried out at a 95% confidence interval and a 0.05 level of significance. The study findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between self-awareness and human relations policy implementation of manufacturing companies in Port Harcourt. The study recommended that the managers of the manufacturing companies in Port Harcourt should ensure to create programmes and avenues that would lead to the self-awareness of the employee with respect to their value to their jobs as this would increase productivity. TL;DR: The results of the physicochemical characteristics of the various sampling points in the dry season showed that pH, TDS and electrical conductivity values showed statistically significant differences at P < 0.005.
Abstract: The surface water resources of Bodo/Bonny communities in Rivers State suffers regular pollution of its ecosystem due to increase in crude oil exploration, refining and activities of other industrial establishments operating within the coastal areas of the Ogoniland of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. This have resulted in the wide scale contamination of most of its creeks, swamps and rivers with hydrocarbons and dispersant products resulting in the alteration of the ecological integrity of fragile aquatic systems, bioaccumulation of chemical contaminants by zoobenthos, sediment enrichment, and smothering or asphyxiation of the organisms in water by oil coating, thereby causing death. These conditions have resulted in serious threat to public health and the ecosystems. The study was aimed at determining the physico-chemical characteristics of Bodo/Bonny coastal waters impacted by crude oil spills and their effect on the marine ecosystems. Surface water was collected from 5 stations (BBW1, BBW2, BBW3, BBW4 and LFPW5) with LFPW5 serving as control. Physico-chemical parameters were investigated following standard methods. The results of the physicochemical characteristics of the various sampling points in the dry season showed that pH, TDS and Electrical conductivity values showed statistically significant differences at P < 0.005. pH was slightly acidic in all sampling locations except for the Link fish pond, the values ranged from 6.20–6.40 which was below DPR Limit of 6.5-8.5 for potable water, TDS recorded 43175–57075 mg/L above DPR permissible Limit of 5000mg/L. Electrical Conductivity (EC) values ranged from 54050 -57050 µS/cm. The Dissolved Oxygen, Biological Oxygen Demand, Turbidity, Chloride recorded in this study varied significantly at P< 0.05. Results of the physicochemical parameters of surface water in the wet season fell within the standard limits except for the conductivity that was above the permissible limits. Comparatively the mean pH value of surface river water with Linked fish pond water which served as the control revealed that the Link fish pond water had the highest pH value of 7.9 than the surface river water samples with a pH of 6.4, TDS (60,200 mg/L), Electrical Conductivity (EC) (µS/cm3) followed a similar pattern with the mean EC value of 55,800 mg/L as against 750mg/L for the Link Fish pond water. Temperature recorded 310C as against 300C for the link fish pond while the Salinity (mg/L) of the surface river water was 31.63 mg/L. Dissolved Oxygen was 2.3 mg/L, Biochemical Oxygen Demand values for the surface river water was 0.49 mg/L while the Link fish pond water had 0.3mg/L. These values obtained in this study shows that the spilled oil in the water could impact on species abundance and biomass by depleting and depriving the fishes from available O2 for survival thus resulting in asphyxiation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the basic perception of time-critical decision making in banking transaction for bank customers, as it create an awareness approach to ease time spent in performing day-to-day transaction at the bank that may involve either withdrawal with or without the use ATM or deposit as the case may be.
Abstract: This research paper treat the basic perception of time-critical decision making in Banking transaction for bank customers, as it create an awareness approach to ease time spent in performing day-to-day transaction at the bank that may involve either withdrawal with or without the use ATM or deposit as the case may be. Most a time at the bank, people spent a lot of time in trying to either withdraw money or deposit money at the various bank branches all over Nigeria. This is as a result of lack of proper time-critical decision support for people to understand what is happening at bank branches. Waste of man hour at the bank may arise due to location of the banks, day to day banking transaction involving withdrawal or deposit done on Friday. This paper is intended to create a time-critical decision support in the banking transaction to assist individual or groups to understand and be aware of certain situations that will assist banking transaction in any of the bank branches in Nigeria. It uses the Bayesian algorithm which is implemented in MATLAB version 7.7.0 to determine the bank branch to carry out transaction. Choice of location for transaction is dependence on the highest posterior probability calculated for a given predictor in predicting the situation and a graph, showing the plotted points.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated agricultural performance amidst macroeconomic instability in Nigeria using the Autoregressive Distributed Lagged model, which showed a correct sign, significant effect and 40.1% speed of adjustment.
Abstract: The interaction among macroeconomic indicators causes shock among themselves and by extension shocks on other macroeconomic variables including agricultural performance. This study investigated agricultural performance amidst macroeconomic instability in Nigeria. Data on the study variables spanning from first quarter of 2010 to the fourth quarter of 2017 was sourced from the Statistical Bulletin of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Diagnostic checks revealed that the variables were integrated of order I(0) and I(1) hence the used of the Autoregressive Distributed Lagged model The cointegration bounds test indicated a long run cointegration consequently the ECM which results showed a correct sign, significant effect and 40.1% speed of adjustment. Empirical, results also indicated that; 91.3% variation in agricultural sector performance was explained by the adopted explanatory variables of the parsimonious model (R2 =0.913). Particularly, changes in the fourth lag of agricultural sector performance, current period exchange rate, the first, second and third lag of exchange rate were significant determinant of agricultural performance within the period under review.
