TL;DR: For the retention factors the LUMO energy turns out to be the most important descriptor, whereas for log a it is the hydrophobicity of the analytes.

TL;DR: The SNP rs2230912 (P2RX7‐E13A) resulting in a change of the amino acid glutamine to arginine at position 460 (Gln460Arg) was replicated in four European bipolar I disorder samples from Germany, Poland, Romania, and Russia totaling 1,445 patients.
Abstract: Two recent studies reported evidence for association between genetic variation of the positional candidate gene P2RX7 on chromosome 12q24 and bipolar I disorder (BPI) [Barden et al. (2006); Am J Med Genet Part B 141B:374-382; McQuillin et al. (2008); Mol Psychiatry 13:1-7] and one study found association with unipolar major depression (Mdd-UP) [Lucae et al. (2006); Hum Mol Genet 15:2438-2445]. In the present work, we aimed to replicate the SNP that showed the strongest association in the above-mentioned studies, namely rs2230912 (P2RX7-E13A) resulting in a change of the amino acid glutamine to arginine at position 460 (Gln460Arg), in four European bipolar I disorder samples from Germany, Poland, Romania, and Russia totaling 1,445 patients, in a German sample of recurrent Mdd-UP patients (N = 640), and a control sample of 2,006 subjects. We found no allelic or genotypic association between rs2230912 and BPI or Mdd-UP both in the national samples and in the combined European patient sample. Additional studies are needed to clarify the potential involvement of P2RX7 and of SNP rs2230912 in the etiology of major affective disorders.

TL;DR: In this paper, a correction force term is introduced to eliminate the spurious interface velocity in finite difference lattice Boltzmann models for liquid-vapor systems, which helps to recover sharp interfaces and sets the phase diagram close to the one derived using the Maxwell construction.
Abstract: The origin of the spurious interface velocity in finite difference lattice Boltzmann models for liquid–vapor systems is related to the first order upwind scheme used to compute the space derivatives in the evolution equations. A correction force term is introduced to eliminate the spurious velocity. The correction term helps to recover sharp interfaces and sets the phase diagram close to the one derived using the Maxwell construction.

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of imperfections on the erosion of critical bifurcation load in the coupling point, both for brut and perforated sections, subjected to uniform compression, is investigated using numerical analysis.
Abstract: Based on the results of experimental tests, presented in the first part of this paper, Part 1—Experimental Investigations [1] , and using the ECBL (Erosion of Critical Bifurcation Load) approach, in this second part the influence of imperfections on the erosion of critical bifurcation load in the coupling point, both for brut and perforated sections, subjected to uniform compression, is investigated using numerical analysis. A numerical sensitivity analysis is performed on the purpose to identify the most significant imperfections. The “theoretical” compression capacity of the tested members is calculated considering the significant imperfections and compared with the experimental results. The calibrated Finite Element (FE) model and the ECBL approach are used to determine the buckling curves for studied sections. At the end, a numerical procedure is proposed in order to obtain the buckling curves for such a type of sections.

TL;DR: Popescu et al. as mentioned in this paper presented a spectrophotometric catalogue of 90 emission-line galaxies (ELGs) discovered during an ob- jective - prism survey that aimed to search for dwarf galax- ies within the voids.
Abstract: We present a spectrophotometric catalogue of 90 emission-line galaxies (ELGs) discovered during an ob- jective - prism survey that aimed to search for dwarf galax- ies within the voids (Popescu et al. 1996, 1998). The paper presents line ratios, equivalent widths and absolute fluxes for the emission-lines seen in the spectra of the galaxies. A list of newly discovered Wolf-Rayet galaxies is presented. Many objects included in the catalogue have low metallic- ity and the extreme cases are proposed as candidates for very low metallicity galaxies.
