29 Jun 2019TL;DR: In this article, a comparative analysis of the calculated and experimental values of the ultimate compressive strength for samples based on the copper matrix and carbon nanotubes was performed, and the results of the analysis were used in the development of new antifriction composite materials with improved strength properties.
Abstract: Carbon nanotube (CNT)-reinforced powder nanocomposites based on copper matrix were successfully fabricated using a spark plasma sintering method. In this work, the mechanisms of hardening the metal matrix with nanosized filler particles were shown. A comparative analysis of the calculated and experimental values of the ultimate compressive strength for samples based on the copper matrix and carbon nanotubes was performed. Linear and root-mean-square models of hardening of composite materials with nano-sized filler were presented. The root-mean-square model allowed us to calculate reliably the values of the ultimate compressive strength at a concentration of CNT in the material up to 0.07 wt.%. The ultimate compressive strength decreases sharply when the content of CNTs in the material is more than 0.07 wt.%. The Orovan mechanism is the predominant mechanism of strengthening of composite materials: copper – CNT. The predominance of Orovan mechanism over other strengthening mechanisms is explained by the relatively low transfer efficiency of the load between the initial components of the material due to the weak interfacial connection between the matrix and the filler, the insufficiently uniform distribution of CNTs in the metal matrix, the agglomeration of nanosized filler, the location of a certain number of CNTs in the pore space of the metal matrix, the presence of pores of irregular shape. The results of the work were used in the development of new antifriction composite materials with improved strength properties for friction units of machines and mechanisms for various purposes.

Abstract: The results of research on the compositions of ceramic bodies using different pore-forming components to obtain wall ceramic materials with improved heat-insulation characteristics are presented. It is found that they have a positive effect on the properties and structure of ceramic building materials.

TL;DR: In this article, a study of Krasnensky flood-lands on the left bank of the Pripyat River, which is the most contaminated region of the Chernobyl accident exclusion zone, was carried out during 1997-2007.
Abstract: Presented studies were carried out during 1997–2007 within Krasnensky flood-lands on the left bank of the Pripyat River, which is the most contaminated region of the Chernobyl accident exclusion zone and where the complex of hydraulic engineering structures as flood protection dams was constructed, which preventing washing away of radioactive substances from soils and changing a hydrological mode of floodplain flows during a high water. In its turn it was by the reason of strengthening of over-moistening and swamping processes within embankment territories. As a result – on a background of the common tendencies of increase of the mobile forms of 90 Sr in soils of catchment territories and bottom sediments of the exclusion zone, there is an increase of humic acids concentrations in waterlogged soils of Krasnensky flood-lands. It is also raises the content of the water-soluble forms of 90 Sr forming with acids the soluble complexes. Thus the increase of concentrations of the mobile radionuclide forms and their inclusion into biotic circulation of aquatic ecosystems is observed. Such dynamics of 90 Sr and 137 Cs contents is significantly reflected on dose rate for hydrobionts due to incorporated radionuclides.

TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that the use of herbage from a cultivated pasture with an average 137 Cs contamination level of 405kBq/m 2 during five subsequent years leads to an individual accumulative averted dose from milk consumption of 0.98mSv, which is below the given dose limit of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
