TL;DR: In this article, a method and an arrangement for, in connection with a possible external fire in an ammunition bunker, preventing products container therein comprising encased explosives, such as for example rocket engines, exploding is presented.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an arrangement for, in connection with a possible external fire in an ammunition bunker, preventing products container therein comprising encased explosives, such as for example rocket engines, exploding. The basic principle underlying the invention is that the casing (2, 6) surrounding the explosive is to consist of a number of parts which are held together by mounting components (11) made from shape memory alloy, the properties of which are selected in such a manner that these mounting components no longer hold the various parts of the casing together if the surrounding temperature rises to such a great extend that the ignition temperature of the explosive begins to approach.

TL;DR: Linear fractional transformation gain-scheduling has been used to design a linear parameter varying controller for a generic fighter aircraft model and results from frozen analysis, nonlinear simulation and piloted simulations are presented.
Abstract: Linear fractional transformation gain-scheduling has been used to design a linear parameter varying controller for a generic fighter aircraft model. The aircraft model is a light weight delta canard configuration with all moving canards with negative inherent stability in the longitudinal axis for subsonic speeds. A linear parameter varying description of the longitudinal dynamics, with Mach number as parameter, is constructed and an angle-of-atta ck command system is designed using a linear matrix inequality based synthesis technique, which is able to handle both parametric and dynamics uncertainties. The resulting controller, gain-scheduled with Mach number, is discretized and implemented by means of rapid prototyping. Results from frozen analysis, nonlinear simulation and piloted simulations are presented.

TL;DR: In this paper, an improved method and an apparatus for navigating a craft (500) by means of remote distance measurement, for instance, via a radar altimeter, was described.
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved method and an apparatus for navigating a craft (500) by means of remote distance measurement, for instance, via a radar altimeter. This measurement of a distance between the craft (500) and a surface (B) over which the craft (500) moves involves a measurement noise model (Ngnd(B)), which for particular geographical positions (Axy, Bxy; Cxy) designates an estimation of the surface's (A, B; C) inclination to cause measurement noise at remote distance measurement against the surface at the geographical position in question (A?xy?, Bxy; Cxy). The measurement noise model (Ngnd(A), Ngnd(B); Ngnd(C)) thereby models surfaces of varying types and kown objects being located on the surface. Relevant measurement noise models (Ngnd(A), Ngnd(B); Ngnd(C)) are taken into account based on the georaphical area within which the craft (500) is estimated to be located. The size of this area is then limited iteratively by performing multiple consecutive remote distance measurements.

TL;DR: In this article, a new guidance principle is introduced in the final stage of the missile's guidance during the final phase (TG), which can be initiated when the missile locks onto a target, and which final phase is followed by an alignment phase.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for guidance of a missile in the final phase of the missile's flight path when the missile's homing device has locked onto a target or when specified final phase criteria are met. Conventional guidance of a missile is often based on principles for proportional navigation. As claimed in the present invention a new guidance principle is introduced in the final stage of the missile's guidance during the final phase (TG), which can be initiated when the missile locks onto a target, and which final phase is followed by an alignment phase (IF). The basis of this guidance principle is that a reference trajectory (TTG) is determined for the final phase (TG) as soon as the missile or other sensor has locked onto the target. The missile is then guided to follow the determined reference trajectory (TTG) by means, for example, of some known principle for proportional navigation.

TL;DR: In this article, a method and an arrangement for detecting objects in a track area (7) of a railway system is presented, in which a train track area associated with an underground station is monitored by means of a radar sensor mounted in a fixed manner relative to the track area.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an arrangement (7) for detecting objects in a track area (2) of a railway system. According to the invention, a track area associated with an underground station is monitored by means of radar sensor mounted in a fixed manner relative to the track area. The surveillance area of the radar sensor is limited at least along parts of the track area by excluding combinations of distance and angle which are not to be included in the surveillance area, and information supplied by the radar sensor is processed for detecting new stationary objects and/or moving objects. The surveillance area is adapted to the tunnel walls of the underground station.

TL;DR: In this article, a device for the control of the behaviour of one or more simulated vehicles is described. But it does not specify whether the vehicle is controlled with the help of a number of rules.
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for the control of the behaviour of one or more simulated vehicles. The device comprises differentunits (10, 12, 16, 18, 20) for supervising the device, for presenting information and for making it possible to input instructions. The behaviour of the vehicle is controlled with the help of a number of rules (14). Each rule (14) comprises one or more premises (22) and conclusions (24). The premises (22) are assigned an indicator which may indicate different conditions, viz. that the premise (22) shall be true, that the premise (22) shall be false or that it does not matter whether the premise (22) is true or false. The invention also concerns a method of generating rules (14) suited to control the behaviour of a real or a simulated vehicle. The generation may be done by detecting the behaviour of a real/simulated vehicle controlled by a driver. Alternatively, the rules may be generated without detecting the behaviour of a driver-controlled vehicle.

TL;DR: In this article, a method and an arrangement for controlling the range of a projectile propelled by a rocket motor is presented, where an actual value of a quantity clearly correlating with the distance covered by the projectile is continuously determined during the propulsion.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for controlling the range of a projectile propelled by a rocket motor. An actual value of a quantity clearly correlating with the distance covered by the projectile is continuously determined during the propulsion. The actual value thus determined is continuously compared with a predefined set-point value, which for the projectile in question corresponds to a predetermined range. When the actual value has been found to be at least equal to the set-point value the propulsion capability of the rocket motor is instantaneously terminated. The arrangement according to the invention comprises a calculation element arranged outside the projectile and preferably stationary, which is designed on the basis of a predetermined range and using known mechanical correlations to calculate a set-point quantity corresponding to the predetermined range. Located on board the projectile are a memory element designed to store the set-point value transmitted from the calculation element, an element measuring the acceleration of the projectile after firing, a second calculation element connected to the acceleration measuring element and designed to continuously calculate an actual range value from the acceleration, a comparing element designed to continuously compare the range set-point quantity with the actual range value and to terminate the propulsion capability of the rocket motor instantaneously when the actual value is at least equal to the set-point value.

Abstract: A device is used for doubling a direct-current voltage, for example doubling +12 volt to 24 volt. The device comprises a transformer and change-over devices in the form of a pair of transistors. A direct-current voltage with a first value is connected to a central tap on the winding. The ends of the winding are connected to change-over devices which alternately bring about changes in potential of the said ends and thereby create direct-current voltage signals with the higher value by means of the transformer's counter electromotive force.
