TL;DR: In this paper, a method for determining the probability of a vehicle colliding with a detected object is presented. Butterworth et al. defined a safety zone of the vehicle as a straight line perpendicular to a line of sight of the detected object.
Abstract: A method for determining the probability of a vehicle colliding with a detected object. The object is detected. A stochastic process is determined representing a relative distance between the vehicle and the detected object. The stochastic process has a direction and a velocity relative the vehicle. A safety zone of the vehicle is defined in relation to the detected object as a straight line perpendicular to a line of sight of the detected object. The probability of colliding with the detected object over a period of time is determined as the probability of the stochastic process crossing the straight line with the direction and velocity of the stochastic process.

TL;DR: A particle filter is developed which includes a data association technique based on joint probabilistic data association (JPDA) and a method for handling road constraints and the tracking of ground targets using acoustic sensors, distributed in a wireless network is studied.
Abstract: In this paper the tracking of ground targets using acoustic sensors, distributed in a wireless network, is studied. The solution to the tracking problem is given within the Bayesian recursive framework. A particle filter (PF) is developed which includes a data association technique based on joint probabilistic data association (JPDA) and a method for handling road constraints. Validation and evaluation of the tracking algorithms are performed using real data extracted from a ground sensor network. The tracking of the targets shows a satisfactory result.

TL;DR: This paper considers several algorithms for tracking closely spaced objects and concentrates on various particle filter implementations for mixed labelling problem.
Abstract: In this paper we will consider several algorithms for tracking closely spaced objects. In particular we will concentrate on various particle filter implementations. One particular problem when using a joint multi target particle filter is the so-called mixed labelling problem. This problem amounts to the fact that different particles will have a different labelling w.r.t. target identity. The combination of the mixed labelling problem and naive or straightforward track extraction leads to performance degradation. This will be illustrated and alternative methods to alleviate this effect will be presented.

Abstract: An internal pressure relieving device for anti-armour ammunition. The device is mainly adapted for use with barrel-loaded ammunition, that is a naked round including a cartridge case, which normally would be located in its packaging. A plurality of slot formed openings have been cut out through a wall of the cartridge case and the openings have been sealed by inserts of polymeric plastic introduced with a tight fit into each opening. Hence, by the characteristics of the plastic material, the inserts can be configured to open up at a predetermined level of temperature. Alternatively, the inserts open up at a predetermined level of pressure in the cartridge case.

TL;DR: Using a symmetric, two- way boundary condition formulation, shielding metal layers can be included in a global electromagnetic simulation, without the need to resolve in detail the interior of the layer.
Abstract: In this paper it is demonstrated how a class of relatively complex EMC simulations can be performed at a low cost, both in terms of time and money. Using a symmetric, two- way boundary condition formulation, shielding metal layers can be included in a global electromagnetic simulation, without the need to resolve in detail the interior of the layer. This formulation, which has been previously used for some specific microwave and EMC problems, has no restrictions on the ratio of layer thickness to the skin depth. It is implemented in a commercial finite element (FEM) solver installed on a standard PC and no source-code programming is required. The method is validated and its usefulness demonstrated by applying it to a number of 3D examples of general EMC relevance.
