01 Jan 2018TL;DR: In this paper, an efficient transition from a grid of amplifiers to a single substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is presented based on the excitation of the spatially distributed SIW mode with an array of parallel and strongly coupled microstrip lines (MLs), each of which is connected to an amplifier.
Abstract: An efficient transition from a grid of amplifiers to a single substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is presented. It is based on the excitation of the spatially distributed SIW mode with an array of parallel and strongly coupled microstrip lines (MLs), each of which is connected to an amplifier. The proposed configuration is optimized by minimizing the ‘active’ reflection coefficients at the TL ports. This equalizes the amplifier optimal load impedances and excites the TE10 SIW mode most efficiently. Also, signals are transferred with nearly uniform power distribution at the amplifier outputs. Numerical results show that this configuration can generate 16x more power per unit volume relative to a single microstripto- SIW transition, while offering a larger bandwidth. A prototype has been developed to validate the proof-of-concept.

31 Aug 2007TL;DR: In this paper, a propellant blast suppressive transportation/storage box for at least one layer of elongate large-caliber ammunition, such as shells, is described. The box is formed as a parallelepipedic cage (10) of a steel grid structure having a bottom section (20) rigidly integrated with four side wall sections (12, 14, 16, 18) so as to define a storage compartment for snugly receiving said at least 1 layer of ammunition therein.

A cage lid (22) is pivotally attached to an upper reinforcement rim (26) of at least one (12, 16) of the side walls sections.

15 Nov 2011TL;DR: In this paper, a plurality of transmit antennas, at least one receive antenna, one receiving antenna, and one shielding structure are configured to set a pointing direction of a first transmit antenna such that a first transmission minimum (16) of the first receive antenna (10) points towards a first zone (24), and a second transmission minimum of a second transmit antenna (12) points toward a second zone (26).
Abstract: The present invention relates to an antenna assembly (2, 102, 202, 302) comprising: a plurality of transmit antennas, at least one receive antenna (4), at least one shielding structure (6), and at least one frame (8), wherein the at least one frame is configured for: setting a pointing direction of a first transmit antenna (10) such that a first transmit minimum (16) of the first receive antenna (10) points towards a first zone (24), and setting a pointing direction of a second transmit antenna (12) such that a second transmit minimum (18) of the second antenna (12) points towards a second zone (26), whereby coupling of radiation from the plurality of transmit antennas to the receive antenna (4) is reduced.

16 Sep 2011TL;DR: In this article, a method for improving an accuracy of a radio based navigation system by correcting the position given by the radio-based navigation system with a correction vector derived from localization data stored in a map database is presented.
Abstract: A method for improving an accuracy of a radio based navigation system by correcting the position given by the radio based navigation system with a correction vector derived from localization data stored in a map database. Position coordinates of the radio based navigation system are measured. A set of 3D map data is selected based upon the measured position coordinates of the radio based navigation system position coordinates. The actual position is determined from the selected 3D map data. The actual position data coordinates are retrieved from the 3D map data based upon the determined actual position. The correction vector is calculated from position difference between measured radio based navigation system position coordinates and retrieved actual position coordinates. The position given by the radio based navigation system is corrected with the correction vector.
