TL;DR: In this paper, a connection path is created between two adjacent layers of a laminate for a component with high demands upon strength and comprising several layers of fibre composite having within each layer substantially parallel fibres embedded in a matrix.
Abstract: In a method for filling pores between two adjacent layers of a laminate for a component with high demands upon strength and comprising several layers of fibre composite having within each layer substantially parallel fibres embedded in a matrix, a connection path is created, through which a medium may move inside the laminate, between the exterior of the laminate and the pore by exerting the laminate at least in the region of the pore for forces making slots to propagate substantially in the matrix through each laminate layer along the fibre direction of the layer. A flowing, curable material is after that applied at an outer surface of the laminate and this is brought to fill the pore through the connection path. Finally, the material filling the pore is brought to cure.

30 Aug 2006TL;DR: In this paper, a helical tool (1′, 1″) having a rigid outer helical support surface is used as support for a non-rigid material for producing a hollow elongated member onto and as an integral part with a surface member.
Abstract: A helical tool (1′, 1″) having a rigid outer helical support surface (2) is used as support for a non-rigid material for producing a hollow elongated member onto and as an integral part with a surface member (3) in manufacturing of a surface member having at least one hollow elongated stiffening member integral therewith.

28 Jul 2010TL;DR: In this article, a method and an apparatus for navigating a craft (400) by means of remote distance measurement is described. But this method requires the craft to move in an undesired direction ( alpha, rather than a correct distance (hgnd) in a desired reference direction.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for navigating a craft (400) by means of remote distance measurement. According to the invention, a compensation is made for the inclination of a remote distance meter mounted on the craft (400) to measure the shortest distance (hter) to the surface (410) over which the craft movers in an undesired direction ( alpha , rather than a correct distance (hgnd) in a desired reference direction. A measurement correction parameter designates the magnitude of the compensation for each geographical position (X, Y) and altitude (hmsl). The compensation thus implies that a measured distance (hter) is increased to an extent, which is indicated by the measurement correction parameter.

16 Oct 2008TL;DR: In this paper, an image capturing device including an optical unit arranged to receive an image of a scene and to convey the scene image to an area outside the image capturing devices designed for the eye or eyes of a user looking into the device.
Abstract: An image capturing device including an optical unit arranged to receive an image of a scene and to convey the scene image to an area outside the image capturing device designed for the eye or eyes of a user looking into the image capturing device, a first image capturing unit arranged to capture eye movements so as to register the directions or movement of the eye or eyes of a person seeking through the scene, and a second image capturing unit arranged to capture the image of the scene.

25 Oct 2005TL;DR: An altitude monitoring system for an aircraft, comprising an input unit that makes it possible to receive or enter cleared flight level and cleared maximum and minimum altitudes into the system, and interfaces or other means to gain access to present altitude and speed, is described in this article.
Abstract: An altitude monitoring system for an aircraft, comprising an input unit that makes it possible to receive or enter cleared flight level and cleared maximum and minimum altitudes into the system, and interfaces or other means to gain access to present altitude and speed, said system being provided with a calculator unit for calculating a future altitude and a comparator unit that compare said future altitude with said maximum and minimum altitude limits, and/or with a cleared flight level plus/minus a tolerance, and also an alerting unit capable of issuing a warning to an aircraft pilot of said aircraft a certain time before an altitude limit is violated, said certain time being calculated such that an evasive manoeuvre using a specified load factor can be performed within said certain time with no or little margin.
