15 Mar 2020TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated edge truncation effects in an array of connected Bowtie antenna elements that has been initially designed through an infinite array approach and presented a novel implementation of the connected-array concept that offers a wide-scan performance with up to 80^{\mathrm {o}$ scan range in the E-plane (in the infinite array).
Abstract: Edge truncation effects are critical when designing a phased array, as these can lead to the variation of the active antenna impedance and radiation pattern between individual array elements. This paper investigates edge truncation effects in an array of connected Bowtie antenna elements that has been initially designed through an infinite array approach. This design represents a novel implementation of the connected-array concept that offers a wide-scan performance with up to $\pm 80^{\mathrm {o}}$ scan range in the E-plane (in the infinite array). The goal of this study is to estimate the minimum size of a realistic finite array of such connected Bowtie antennas.

17 Nov 2009TL;DR: In this article, a method of producing a forming tool and the forming tool for forming an article is described, where the tool (1) comprises a composite face sheet (7) having a forming surface (29) and an inner surface (17) opposite the forming surface.
Abstract: The present invention regards a method of producing a forming tool and the forming tool for forming an article, the forming tool (1) comprises a composite face sheet (7) having a forming surface (29) and an inner surface (17) opposite the forming surface (29), and further comprises a support structure being attached to the inner surface (17) of the composite face sheet (7). The support structure comprises a support shell (9, 9', 9") of composite having a first surface (27) facing the inner surface (17) of the composite face sheet (7) and having a second surface (28) opposite the first surface (27), the support structure further comprises distance members (11, 31), and the support shell (9, 9', 9") is fixed at a distance from the composite face (7) sheet by means of the distance members (11, 31).

22 Feb 2006TL;DR: In this paper, a temperature sensitive pyrotechnic composition for thermal fuse intended to produce spontaneous ignition at a well-defined auto-ignition temperature was proposed, which is lower than for the gas-generating mixture found in the gas generator.
Abstract: For gas generators that are to inflate airbags during a collision in a vehicle based auto- ignition system in the form of a temperature sensitive pyrotechnic composition for thermal fuse intended to produce spontaneous ignition at a well-defined auto-ignition temperature. This auto- ignition temperature must be lower than for the gas-generating mixture found in the gas generator. The pyrotechnic thermal fuse is characterized by the content of Guanylurea nitrate and/or Guanylurea dinitramide together with 3-nitro-l,2,4-triazol-5-one (NTO). Furthermore, it is mixed with an oxidizing agent plus a reducing agent in the form of a slag former. These components can be mixed in various compositions to produce an auto-ignition temperature between 150-180°C.

30 Mar 2016TL;DR: In this article, the authors described a laser arrangement and a method of the laser arrangement, arranged to output energy in the form of laser emission, for emitting controlled Q-switched laser emission.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates a laser arrangement ( 1 ) and a method of the laser arrangement, arranged to output energy in the form of laser emission, for emitting controlled Q-switched laser emission. The laser arrangement comprises a gain medium ( 2 ) arranged to be excited when pumped, an optical resonator ( 3 ), an active Q-switch ( 4 ) arranged in the optical resonator, said active Q-switch ( 4 ) being controllable between at least a high loss state and a low loss state, and being arranged to introduce loss in the optical resonator to prevent lasing in the high loss state and to affect lasing minimally in the low loss state, a photo detector ( 5 ) arranged to detect the presence of a free running pulse ( 1 ′) generated by the optical resonator and which occurs when a lasing threshold is reached and a processing circuitry ( 6 ) arranged to control (S 4 ) of the state of the active Q-switch based on the detection of the free running pulse.
