17 Oct 2007TL;DR: In this paper, an optical arrangement consisting of an optical limiter device and an optical system is described, which provides an optimal intermediate image substantial in a plane comprised in the non linear limiter element.
Abstract: Optical limiter device, comprising a non linear limiter element, one first lens device and one second lens device, said first lens device is arranged to receive beams of electromagnetic waves and refract said waves, said second lens is arranged to essentially refract said waves in an essentially reverse manner, said non linear limiting element is arranged to be positioned in a position between said lens devices, this position being a conceivable focus of said first and said second lens device and said first lens device's focus is independently adjustable which, in use, provides for an optimal intermediate image substantial in a plane comprised in the non linear limiter element. An optical arrangement is also disclosed comprising an optical limiter device and an optical system.

23 Jan 2014TL;DR: In this article, a switching mode DC/DC (Direct Current/Direct Current) power converter for delivering a direct current to a pulse radar unit configured to transmit RF pulses with pulse duration was presented.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a switching mode DC/DC (Direct Current/Direct Current) power converter for delivering a direct current to a pulse radar unit configured to transmit RF pulses with pulse duration. The switching mode power converter comprising: a first switching element configured to connect and disconnect the switching mode power converter from a power source in each cycle of the power converter. An inductor configured to charges and discharges in each cycle of the power conversion.A capacitor configured to maintain a DC output voltage as the inductor charges and discharges in each cycle.A second switching element configured to transfer energy from the inductor to the capacitor when the first switch disconnects the switching mode power converter from the power source. A control loop regulating the voltage with a time constant, to a predetermined value by means of controlling the first switching element. An on time for the first switching element in each cycle is chosen to allow the current through the inductor to fall to zero in each cycle. The cycle is shorter than RF the pulse duration and that the time constant of the control loop is longer than the RF pulses.

26 Sep 2019TL;DR: In this paper, a piezoelectric sensor arrangement for use in a projectile is described. But the method of discriminating voltage outlet signals (8, 9) by means of the sensor arrangement described herein is not discussed.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a piezoelectric sensor arrangement for use in a projectile (2) comprising a piezoelectric sensor (6) enveloped by a damping layer (5) adapted to attenuate signals of frequencies above a predetermined cutoff frequency whereby the voltage output signal (9) of the piezoelectric sensor (6) upon impact on a desired hard target can be discriminated from voltage output signals (8) originating from impact on undesired soft objects. The invention also relates to a method of discriminating voltage outlet signals (8, 9) by means of the piezoelectric sensor arrangement described herein. The invention also relates to the use of a piezoelectric sensor arrangement in a projectile to safeguard unintentional detonation does not occur.

01 Jul 2005TL;DR: In this paper, a kinetic pre-cursor is accommodated in the kinetic precharge and the ignition of the pre-charge is controlled by the ignition system by introducing a time delay between a sensed impact and a precharge.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an ammunition unit (1) suitable for combat in urban terrain. The ammunition unit (1) is provided with a warhead comprising a kinetic pre-cursor (2), a main charge (3), an impact sensor and an ignition system (10). According to the invention a pre-charge (9) is accommodated in the kinetic pre-cursor (2). The ignition of the pre-charge (9) is controlled by the ignition system by introducing a time delay between a sensed impact and the ignition of the pre-charge (9) and the ignition of the main charge (3) is controlled by the ignition system by introducing a further time delay before ignition of the main charge (3).
