08 Jun 2005TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a matching algorithm for automatic modeling of a physical scene, where at least two images (I1, I2) of the scene are received, which are taken from different angles and/or positions.
Abstract: The present invention relates to automatic modeling of a physical scene. At least two images (I1 , I2) of the scene are received, which are taken from different angles and/or positions. A matching m o d u l e (130) matches image objects in the first image (I1) against image objects in t h e second image (I2) , by first loading pixel values for at least one first portion of the first image (I1) into an artificial neural network (133). Then, the artificial neural network (133) scans the second image (I2) in search of pixels representing a respective second portion corresponding to each of the at least one first portion; determines a position of the respective second portion upon fulfillment of a match criterion; and produces a representative matching result (M12) . Based on the matching result (M12) , a first calculation module (140) calculates a fundamental matrix (F12) , which defines a relationship between the first and second images (I1 , I2) . Based on the fundamental matrix (F12) , in turn, a s e c o n d calculation module (150) calculates a depth map (D12) , which describes distance differences between a set of image points in the first image (I1) and a corresponding set of image points in the second image (I2) . Finally, the depth map (D12) constitutes a basis for a synthetic model of the scene.

14 Sep 2015TL;DR: In this paper, measurements of the shielding performance of different generations of windows and qualities of window panes are presented and the intention is to include the results in a guide-line for IEMI protection of critical infrastructures.
Abstract: Glass windows have undergone an energy saving evolution over the past three, four decades, from single panes till today's ultralow-emission windows. While the earliest energy saving windows were constructed as a sandwich of clear glass panes using the vacuum-flask principle, modern low-emission windows includes panes with coatings of metal and/or metal oxides. This coating has caused radio propagation problems for communication systems; something that may be utilized to protect a building from intentional electromagnetic interference (IEMI) attacks and to help protecting against information leakage. In this paper measurements of the shielding performance of different generations of windows and qualities of window panes are presented. The intention is to include the results in a guide-line for IEMI protection of critical infrastructures. Measurements are made using two complementary methods; in a nested reverberation chamber and in a semi-anechoic chamber, both over the range 1 – 18 GHz. The results show a clear generation dependency where the energy saving windows largely do not attenuate RF signals at all and low-emission windows offer shielding effectiveness values between 10 and 45 dB with potentially as much as around 60 dB in the upper half of the spectrum.

TL;DR: In this article, a method and an arrangement for, in connection with a possible external fire in an ammunition bunker, preventing products container therein comprising encased explosives, such as for example rocket engines, exploding is presented.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an arrangement for, in connection with a possible external fire in an ammunition bunker, preventing products container therein comprising encased explosives, such as for example rocket engines, exploding. The basic principle underlying the invention is that the casing (2, 6) surrounding the explosive is to consist of a number of parts which are held together by mounting components (11) made from shape memory alloy, the properties of which are selected in such a manner that these mounting components no longer hold the various parts of the casing together if the surrounding temperature rises to such a great extend that the ignition temperature of the explosive begins to approach.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the recovery time of the gain of low noise amplifiers after an input overdrive pulse and found that the effect is due to trapping in the transistors with the Fe doped buffer playing an important role.
Abstract: This study investigates recovery time of the gain of AlGaN/GaN HEMT based low noise amplifiers (LNA) after an input overdrive pulse. Three LNAs, fabricated in two commercial MMIC processes and a Chalmers in-house process, are evaluated. The Chalmers process has an unintentionally doped buffer instead of the intentional Fe doping of the buffer which is standard in commercial GaN HEMT technologies. It is shown that the LNAs from the two commercial processes experience a severe drop in gain after input overdrive pulses higher than 28 dBm, recovering over a duration of around 20 ms. In contrast the LNA fabricated in-house at Chalmers experienced no visible effects up to an input power of 33 dBm. These results have impact for radar and electronic warfare receivers, which need to be operational immediately after an overdrive pulse. The long time constants suggest that these effects are due to trapping in the transistors with the Fe doped buffer playing an important role.

01 Apr 2017TL;DR: The main factors that affect how often developers deliver software to the mainline are presented and a wide range of sub-categories are presented which summarizes what the developers themselves see as the continuous integration impediments in large-scale industry projects.
Abstract: Based on interviews with 20 developers from two case study companies that develop large-scale software-intensive embedded systems, this paper presents the main factors that affect how often developers deliver software to the mainline Further on, the paper describes the continuous integration behaviors in projects where up to 1,000 developers commit to the same mainline The main factors that could enable more frequent integration of software are: "Activity planning and execution", "System thinking", "Speed" and "Confidence through test activities" Behind these main themes we also present a wide range of sub-categories ("Modular and loosely coupled architecture", "Test selection" etc) which summarizes what the developers themselves see as the continuous integration impediments in large-scale industry projects
