29 Jan 2003TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a method and a system for calculating a flight route between a first position and a second position, where the first position is chosen as the current position, and the following steps are then repeated until the second position is reached: a loss function is determined corresponding to each flight path in a set of flight paths that are predefined in relation to the current direction of flight; a flight path that yields the most advantageous value for the loss function was selected; a subsection from the current location and a predetermined number of positions forward are registered for the selected flight path
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a system for calculating a flight route between a first position and a second position. According to the method, the first position is chosen as the current position, and the following steps are then repeated until the second position is reached: a loss function is determined corresponding to each flight path in a set of flight paths that are predefined in relation to the current direction of flight; a flight path that yields the most advantageous value for the loss function is selected; a subsection from the current position and a predetermined number of positions forward are registered for the selected flight path, and the position at the end of the subsection is chosen as the new current position.

06 Feb 2009TL;DR: In this paper, a radar system for a synthetic aperture radar including an arrangement of at least one transmitter, two receivers, two antennas and signal processing means located on a platform is presented.
Abstract: A radar system for a synthetic aperture radar including an arrangement of at least one transmitter, two receivers, two antennas and signal processing means located on a platform. The platform is arranged to move over ground and arranged to transmit a known signal shape and receive signals reflected from the ground. The received signals are used to produce a synthetic aperture radar image of the ground. The synthetic aperture radar image includes a number of resolution cells. The radar system is further arranged to operate in a frequency band with a center frequency and with a wide bandwidth of at least one octave. A first antenna and a second antenna have a length of less than half the wavelength of the center frequency. The radar system is further arranged for: a radar system transfer function to be flat over the frequency band and one-sided beam forming with wideband antenna gain. Also a corresponding method.

20 Dec 2005TL;DR: In this article, a method of manufacturing an integral article comprising a fiber-reinforced composite material is described. But this method is limited to the case of a tool body.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing an integral article comprising a fiber-reinforced composite material. An inner tool body (12) of a cellular plastic material is provided, onto which an airtight sheet (14) of a flexible material is applied so as to fully encompass and seal the tool body (12). A plurality of layers (16) of fiber-reinforced composite material are then applied onto the outer surface of the airtight sheet (14), and an airtight vacuum bag (18) is in turn applied onto the outer layer of the composite material (16). The vacuum bag (18) is evacuated and the layers (16) of composite material compressed. The composite material is heat treated so as to cure the same. The vacuum bag (18) is then removed from the thus formed article. To form a hollow integral tank, the formed article is provided with a hole (22), and a solvent is poured therein to dissolve the cellular plastic material. The dissolved material is then drained through the hole (22), and the airtight sheet (14) is possibly removed theretrough.

17 Aug 2004TL;DR: In this article, an inertial measurement unit, a direction-sensing module and a velocity processor are used to measure a spatial velocity vector in order to make determination of a geographical position possible.
Abstract: Measurement of a spatial velocity vector in order to make determination of a geographical position possible. A spatial velocity meter includes an inertial measurement unit, a direction-sensing module and a velocity processor. The inertial measurement unit registers acceleration parameters and angular velocity parameters in three dimensions. The direction-sensing module registers a natural reference signal. The velocity processor receives the acceleration parameters, the angular velocity parameters and the natural reference signal, and based thereon, generates the spatial velocity vector.

28 Sep 2006TL;DR: In this article, a flyable body is used for hitting a target by means of a laser beam reflected from an object and a processor is arranged to determine the received radiation on the respective detector element in order to detect the origin of the laser beam.
Abstract: A laser target seeker device arranged to receive a laser beam reflected from an object. Detector elements are arranged to detect the reflected laser beam. A processor is arranged to determine the received radiation on the respective detector element in order to determine the origin of the laser beam. A diffractor is arranged relative to the detector elements and configured to diffract the reflected laser beam into portions prior to being detected by the detector elements. The detector elements are arranged to detect the respective portion. A flyable body is for hitting a target by means of a laser beam. A system for hitting a target by means of a laser beam. A method for detecting a laser beam reflected from an object. Use of a kinoform member in a laser target seeker for diffracting a laser beam.
