16 Nov 2006TL;DR: In this article, a rotational support for a single-arm remote-warrior station with a rotatable attachment is described. But the attachment is mounted between the support and the weapon attachment.
Abstract: A remote weapon station including a weapon support adapted for rotatable motion about a first transverse axis. The weapon support supports a weapon attachment device being rotatable about a second elevation axis. A sight unit is rotatable about a third transverse axis and about, perpendicular to the third transverse axis, a fourth elevation axis, independently of the position or rotation of the weapon support about the first transverse axis and the second elevation axis. The sight unit is mounted between the weapon support and the weapon attachment device.

20 Nov 2013TL;DR: In this article, an airfoil article including a composite skin (5) having a first surface (S1) and a second surface opposite to said first surface, forming a leading edge (4) is described.
Abstract: The invention regards an airfoil article including a composite skin (5) having a first surface (S1) and a second surface (S2) opposite to said first surface, forming a leading edge (4). The leading edge (4) is during use subjected to a airflow (a) meeting the leading edge (4) at stagnation points (SP). The leading edge (4) comprises a elongated member (9, 9'…9''''', 30, 32, 36, 38, 39).The outer surface (O) of the elongated member is arranged flush with the first surface (S1) of the composite skin (5) such that an essentially smooth aerodynamic surface of the leading edge (4) is formed. The elongated member is adapted to serve as an erosion protection of the leading edge and to function as an electrode (AC, RE) of a plasma generating system (40).

TL;DR: In this paper, an expected cost model for mission routes is proposed and analyzed, where only a few parameters need to be adjusted for combining different objectives, such as maximizing the survivability, maximizing the probability of performing mission task(s), and minimizing the time in air.
Abstract: Air mission planning in hostile environments requires that multiple dependent objectives are taken into account. For example, the aircraft must be unharmed in order to perform reconnaissance in an area of interest. Moreover, the risk that the aircraft gets hit depends on the probability that the enemy’s sensors are tracking the aircraft. This paper suggests and analyses an expected cost model for mission routes. It is shown that only a few parameters need to be adjusted for combining different objectives, such as maximizing the survivability, maximizing the probability of performing mission task(s) and minimizing the time in air. The route planning problem is formulated as the optimization problem of finding the route with minimum expected cost. An implemented route planner utilizing particle swarm optimization is used for demonstrating the method with simulations. It is shown that the route planner is able to take dependencies between objectives into account. The conclusion is that the method is useful f...

18 Feb 2019TL;DR: In this article, a literature study and a study of the Saab offset cases to identify strategies to increase inter-organizational transfer capability is presented, based on a single case within a relatively unique industry with an offset perspective and production transfers.
Abstract: Purpose
The purpose of this paper is through a literature study and a study of the Saab offset cases to identify strategies to increase inter-organizational transfer capability.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper is based on a literature study and a study of three of Saab’s offset cases and Saab’s process for technology transfer.
Findings
This study has identified inter-organizational transfer strategies based on the importance of the hierarchy of decision-making and the change from capacity transfers to capability transfers in offset business. The type of performance goals set in the business agreement decides how to realize the transfer. The hierarchy of decision-making creates a need to align the understanding of the performance goals between the different parts of the organization, which affect the plans for how to transfer knowledge between the organizational as well as the individual levels. To reach the performance goals of the technology transfer, there needs to be a balance between the disseminative capability of the sender and the absorptive capability of the receiver.
Research limitations/implications
This study is based on a single case within a relatively unique industry with an offset perspective and production transfers. Therefore, there is also a need for future studies to confirm the identified relationships within outsourcing/offset within other industries and other types of transfers.
Originality/value
A change from capacity transfers to capability transfers in both outsourcing/offshoring and offset business indicates that more research should be placed on the disseminative capacity of the sender. The literature review revealed that the disseminative capacity of the sender has been the subject of less research than the absorptive capacity of the receiver.

16 May 2007TL;DR: In this paper, a fault tolerant data bus system is proposed, where a switch is configured to either connect or isolate a transmission path of the node to the bus and is configured by the TDMA time slot transmission schedule for the node via a bus transmission access control device.
Abstract: A data bus node, being a control node or a sensor node and being arranged to communicate over a TDMA data bus. The node includes a time signal processing device being configured to define a TDMA time slot transmission schedule for at least the node. A switch is configured to either connect or isolate a transmission path of the node to the bus and is configured to be controlled by the TDMA time slot transmission schedule for the node via a bus transmission access control device. The bus transmission access control device is configured to be further controlled by at least one external control signal via at least one external data transmission link being physically separated from the bus. A fault tolerant data bus system includes such a bus node and an aircraft exploiting the node/system. The babbling idiot problem is solved and at the same time the node/s/system fail silent behavior is enhanced.
