21 Dec 2010TL;DR: In this article, an automatic or semiautomatic transmission for a motorized vehicle, comprising a guide (106;206) which is arranged to receive and control the position of at least two guided members (110,120;220,230), wherein the position a guided member controls the mode of operation of a predetermined actuation device (260,250;260,350) e.g. gear selector, clutch plate or park brake etc.
Abstract: There is provided an automatic or semiautomatic transmission for a motorized vehicle, comprising a guide (106;206) which is arranged to receive and control the position of at least two guided members (110,120;220,230), wherein the position of a guided member controls the mode of operation of a predetermined actuation device (260,250;260,350) e.g. gear selector, clutch plate or park brake etc. By moving said guide relative said guided members, the guided members are synchronously arranged at sequential pairs of positions (P1-P8), wherein said pairs of positions correspond to predetermined combinations of modes of operations of said actuation devices. In this way a synchronized and sequential series of movements of at least two actuation devices is provided, which may synchronize the movement of e.g. a gear selector and a clutch such that a change from a first gear via a neutral gear to a second gear is provided.

TL;DR: A summary of the results obtained during the activities developed within the GARTEUR AD/AG-52 group is presented in this article, where the aim of the AG52 group was to evaluate and assess surrogate-based global optimization methods for aerodynamic shape design of aeronautical configurations.
Abstract: This work presents a summary of the results obtained during the activities developed within the GARTEUR AD/AG-52 group GARTEUR stands for “Group for Aeronautical Research and Technology in Europe” and is a multinational organization that performs high quality, collaborative, precompetitive research in the field of aeronautics to improve technological competence of the European Aerospace Industry The aim of the AG52 group was to make an evaluation and assessment of surrogate-based global optimization methods for aerodynamic shape design of aeronautical configurations The structure of the paper is as follows: Sect “Introduction” will introduce the state-of-the-art in surrogate-based optimization for aerodynamic design and Sect “Definition of Common Test Cases and Methods” will detail the test cases selected in the AG52 group Optimization results will be then showed in Sect “Optimization Results”, and conclusions will be provided in the last section

21 Mar 2012TL;DR: In this article, a method and an apparatus for measuring the travelling time difference of a bandlimited signal that is transmitted from one emitter over at least two channels having different delays to at least one receiver is presented.
Abstract: The invention provides a method and an apparatus for measuring the travelling time difference of a bandlimited signal that is transmitted from one emitter over at least two channels having different delays to at least two receivers. The emitter and the receivers may be stationary or moving. Basically the channels are undisturbed channels, but in general the channels may be disturbed by reflections of stationary or moving reflectors and multipath effects. The received signals are sampled and interpolated in a suitable way. The cross-correlation function of each two sampled and interpolated signals is calculated. The disturbing effects of movement, reflections and multipath effects are removed from the cross-correlation function, and a cleaned up cross-correlation function is provided that only represents the undisturbed channel. A continuous smooth curve is fitted to the maximum values of the cleaned up cross-correlation function. The maximum of the smooth curve provides an improved value for the travelling time difference.
