TL;DR: This work proposes a method for remote operation of a USV, where the operator uses Virtual Reality (VR) to comprehend the surrounding environment, and designs a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that guides the operator through the navigation process.
Abstract: An unmanned ship can be designed without considering humancomfort, and can thus be constructed lighter, smaller and less expensive. It can carry out missions in rough terrain or be in areaswhere it would be dangerous for a human to operate. By not havingto support a crew, lengthy missions can be accepted, enabling, e.g.reconnaissance missions, or reducing emissions by lowering thespeed.Breakthroughs with autonomous systems enable more advancedunmanned surface vessels (USVs), but to be able to handle complexmissions in a dynamic environment, a human operator is stillassumed an effective decision maker. Thus, we propose a methodfor remote operation of a USV, where the operator uses VirtualReality (VR) to comprehend the surrounding environment. Greatimportance has been given to the ability to perform safe navigation,by designing a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that guides the operatorthrough the navigation process, by presenting the importantinformation at the right place in the right orientation. TL;DR: In this article, an internal combustion engine is mounted in an external combustion engine by a transmission belt for driving an accessory device, which reduces the axial extent of the engine by mounting the belt against the free wheel of the vehicle.
Abstract: La presente invention consiste a monter dans un moteur a combustion interne une transmission par courroie (23) pour l'entrainement d'un dispositif accessoire (26). The present invention consists in mounting in an internal combustion engine by a transmission belt (23) for driving an accessory device (26). Dans ce montage, des elements deflecteurs (27, 28) sont disposes de sorte que la courroie d'entrainement (24) servant a entrainer le montage vienne appuyer par exemple contre la roue libre (16) du moteur. In this arrangement, the deflector elements (27, 28) are arranged so that the drive belt (24) for driving the support assembly comes for example against the free wheel (16) of the engine. Les elements deflecteurs (27, 28) sont disposes de sorte que la zone (32) delimitee par la courroie d'entrainement (24) se situe a l'exterieur de la zone qui renferme l'axe de rotation (31) de la roue libre (16). The deflector elements (27, 28) are arranged so that the area (32) delimited by the drive belt (24) lies outside the area which includes the axis of rotation (31) of the wheel free (16). Since, therefore, the drive belt (24) can be mounted without necessarily cross the axis of rotation (31), such a transmission belt (23) may simply be installed in the rear of the engine, which reduces the motor axial extent.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore the dynamics of the triple constraint by considering their mutualities as polarities to manage in order to bring a refreshed perspective to the time vs. cost vs. scope dilemma.
Abstract: It has become the norm in many projects to view the traditional trade-offs as classic problems to `solve'. This approach often suppresses the creative exploitation of paradox within the triple constraint. The principles and practices of Polarity ManagementTM introduce a refreshed perspective by supporting the `either/or' problem solving approach with the `both/and' rationale, which allows the triple constraint trade-offs to be held in respectful dialogue. Without the effective management of the triple constraint as an interrelated system, projects run the risk of becoming separated from purpose. This paper undertakes to explore the dynamics of the triple constraint by considering their `mutualities' as polarities to manage in order to bring a refreshed perspective to the time vs. cost vs. scope dilemma. An integrated model is proposed that considers the exploitation trade-offs as polarities to manage in an effort to sustain an optimum compromise as a function of the anticipated project outcome.

TL;DR: In this article, the primary fluid issue has its axis transverse to a pair of spaced apart wall members, in which there are secondary fluid inlet means, and has its mouth spaced from the other wall member so that the latter divergingly deflects the incoming primary fluid.
Abstract: The nozzle from which primary fluid issues has its axis transverse to a pair of spaced apart wall members. It extends through one of the wall members, in which there are secondary fluid inlet means, and has its mouth spaced from the other wall member so that the latter divergingly deflects the incoming primary fluid.
