01 Jan 1962TL;DR: In this article, some corrosion tests under stress in a humidity cabinet with steels of different compositions and hardness levels were described and their results analyzed in comparison with practical experience, and experiments were carried out to investigate if the failures were due to true stress corrosion cracking or to hydrogen embrittlement, induced by corrosion.
Abstract: Amongst the problems encountered in the use of high strength steels, that of delayed failure is one of the most complex. Some observations made at Saab Aircraft Company point to corrosion under stress as one possible source of such failures. In this paper, some corrosion tests under stress in a humidity cabinet with steels of different compositions and hardness levels will be described and their results analysed in comparison with practical experience. Some experiments were carried out to investigate if the failures were due to true stress corrosion cracking or to hydrogen embrittlement, induced by corrosion.

08 Nov 2016TL;DR: This work introduces the concept of collective method rationale together with metrics to capture this aggregated rationale in product development projects and proposes an elaboration of method rationale theory to enable this type of analysis.
Abstract: Existing research provide frameworks for analysing the rationale behind engineering methods and how this rationale matches the rationale of individual project members As methods are used in groups, this raises questions about how to study method rationale on an aggregated project level We propose an elaboration of method rationale theory to enable this type of analysis We introduce the concept of collective method rationale together with metrics to capture this aggregated rationale The conceptual work is implemented in a computerized tool, which enables analyses of collective method rationale in product development projects These are the results of an action research project and we present a pilot test of the computerized tool to demonstrate the concept

25 May 2001TL;DR: In this article, a library of conformationally restricted polyamine analogues for use in imaging and for therapeutic use in treatment of tumors is presented. But the analogues do not have the ability to aggregate DNA seen in the parent polyamines.
Abstract: Novel compounds are chiral compounds which are conformationally restricted polyamine analogues for use in imaging and for therapeutic use in treatment of tumors. These analogues diminish the ability to aggregate DNA seen in the parent polyamines. The invention provides for synthesis of a library of analogues with fine structural modifications which retain restriction and conservation of the molecular weight of the parent polyamines.

TL;DR: Building comprehensive cyber security strategies to protect people, infrastructure and assets demands research on methods and practices to reduce risks, according to a report commissioned by the US Department of Defense.
Abstract: Building comprehensive cyber security strategies to protect people, infrastructure and assets demands research on methods and practices to reduce risks. Once the methods and practices are identifie ...

25 Oct 2006TL;DR: In this paper, a warhead consisting of a charge unit with an explosive charge, a liner, and an initiator is presented, where a stopper is provided in front of the charge unit to interfere with the liner.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a warhead (2) comprising a charge unit (5) with an explosive charge (7), a liner (8) and an initiator (9), the warhead having a fragmentation capacity. The invention also refers to a projectile or a missile comprising such a warhead (2). According to the invention a stopper (6) is provided in front of the charge unit (5) to interfere with the liner (8) of the charge unit at such a distance from the charge unit (5) that the essential part of the acceleration of the liner (8) under influences from explosive gases of the explosive charge has taken place before reaching the stopper (6). This creates a splinter mode with fragments spread in desired directions of space.
