TL;DR: In this paper, the probabilistic nature of the different variables necessary for the calculation of screwed joints is discussed, based on Taylor's series expansions or Monte Carlo simulations of the utilization of a screw over its yield point.
Abstract: The technique presented here focuses on the probabilistic nature of the different variables necessary for the calculation of screwed joints. The technique is based on Taylor's series expansions or Monte Carlo simulations of the utilization of a screw over its yield point. It is very useful for quality controllers and design engineers since it is able to predict, for instance, the minimum and maximum snug torques, permanent elongation, final torque and preload after tightening. Comparisons are made between the results found of Monte Carlo simulations, series expansions and the extreme-value method. It is suggested that the Monte Carlo method is the most appropriate.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a method for computer controlled fuel systems for Otto engines, with sequential injection of fuel in each cylinder to the inlet valves, where the initiation of the opening or closing of the injection valve gives rise to a calculation of the instantaneous fuel demand.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and method which can be applied primarily to computer controlled fuel systems for Otto engines, with sequential injection of fuel in each cylinder to the inlet valves. In order to obtain the fastest possible response with the smallest possible number of calculations of the fuel flow, the invention is characterised in that it is the initiation of the opening or closing of the injection valve which immediately gives rise to a calculation of the instantaneous fuel demand. When the injector is activated for opening (61) or closing (60, 60'), an interrupt is generated which, in the case of automatic opening, activates one complete calculation of the instantaneous fuel demand on the basis of the parameters which are detected at the time of opening or, at the time of closing, on the basis of a limited number of parameters which are indicative of the load enrichment requirement at the time of closing. Calculation for closing can be completed by the microprocessor with a limited number of instructions before the injector has begun to close. Thus a counter-command for opening the injector, caused by the fuel enrichment requirement, results in a single coherent, but extended injection (55).

TL;DR: In this paper, a wide range of SRAMs were used to study the differences between proton and neutron induced SEUs at different energies, and the experiments were performed at Theodor) Svedberg Laboratory in Uppsala, Sweden, and at the Weapons Neutron Research (WNR) facility, Los Alamos, USA.
Abstract: We report on irradiation induced SEU by high-energy protons and neutrons. The experiments were performed at The (odor) Svedberg Laboratory in Uppsala, Sweden, and at the Weapons Neutron Research (WNR) facility, Los Alamos, USA. A wide range of SRAMs were used to study the differences between proton and neutron induced SEUs at different energies

TL;DR: This paper proposes a position estimation method where the horizon line is extracted in a 360° panoramic image around the USV, and designs a convolutional neural network architecture to determine an approximate horizon line in the image and implicitly determine the camera orientation.
Abstract: This paper investigates the problem of position estimation of unmanned surface vessels (USVs) operating in coastal areas or in the archipelago. We propose a position estimation method where the hor ...
