TL;DR: Tomato and BaseballField are Bacillus bacteriophages that were isolated and annotated by students in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Phage Hunters program as discussed by the authors, and have a unique truncation of the tape measure gene that is not found in other closely related Bacillus phages.
Abstract: Tomato and BaseballField are Bacillus bacteriophages that were isolated and annotated by students in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Phage Hunters program. Tomato has a unique truncation of the tape measure gene that is not found in other closely related C1 Bacillus phages. BaseballField is a strictly lytic phage with a compact genome of 26 kb.

TL;DR: At age 7 years, the incidence of frank mental retardation, borderline intelligence, and sensory deficits was significantly higher in males with bilateral cryptorchidism relative to their matched controls, suggesting crypt orchidism may be associated with maldevelopment of the brain.
Abstract: Cryptorchidism (undescended testes) is one of the most common congenital malformations in males. The National Collaborative Perinatal Project (NCPP) database yielded 50 bilateral and 93 unilateral cases of cryptorchidism matched to 286 controls for study center, socioeconomic status, birth order, and maternal age and education. At age 7 years, the incidence of frank mental retardation, borderline intelligence, and sensory deficits was significantly higher in males with bilateral cryptorchidism relative to their matched controls. When children with IQs > 85 were considered, those with unilateral cryptorchidism had significantly lower WISC Performance subscale scores relative to their matched controls. This was not an artifact of group differences in demographics, perinatal complications, physical growth, emotionality or motoric competence. Hence, cryptorchidism may be associated with maldevelopment of the brain.

TL;DR: In this article, a series of case vignettes depicting ethical dilemmas encountered by psychologists who adopt Twitter are discussed. But little research has examined the adoption rate of Twitter within a sample of psychologists.
Abstract: Twitter, an online application, allows users to post microblog statements in real time. Have psychologists in leadership positions adopted Twitter? What ethical standards are navigated in doing so? Little research has examined the adoption rate of Twitter within a sample of psychologists. This article outlines a series of case vignettes depicting ethical dilemmas encountered by psychologists who adopt Twitter. Data reviewing Twitter adoption by professional psychologists who served as president within psychology advocacy organizations reveal higher adoption rates from student group leaders than professional organization advocacy presidents. Implications for ethical standards and professional development are discussed.

TL;DR: In this article, an international psychologist-delivered consulting effort focused on social services improvement in postcrisis communities is described. And the experience of a Fulbright-supported research program to provide trauma-informed addiction-service capacity-building through a consulting-psychology approach in Cyprus is reviewed.
Abstract: This article examines an international psychologist-delivered consulting effort focused on social-services improvement in postcrisis communities. It reviews the experience of a Fulbright-supported research program to provide trauma-informed addiction-service capacity-building through a consulting-psychology approach in Cyprus. In evaluating the experience, the author shares important lessons that may serve as a call to action and primer for psychologists who aim to have an impact on their local and global communities in ways that can enrich the capacity to recover from crisis, extend the reach of the discipline, and expand the professional identity of psychologists.
