Abstract: Two cases of leiomyosarcoma of the rectum are reported. One patient died of local extension and distant metastases. In the other patient the disease was palliated by cryosurgery to relieve obstruction and, eight months later, the patient was doing well.

TL;DR: The direct agglutination particle slide test for human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) was evaluated and the panel discussion mentioned the problems of low HCG in early pregnancy, and of posible prozone phenomena in case of high HCG as may occur in hydatidiform mole or in later pregnancy.
