TL;DR: This review summarizes the advantages, disadvantages and relevant literature on various imaging modalities currently available for the evaluation of myocardial ischemia and viability.
Abstract: Noninvasive cardiac imaging plays a central role in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease and cardiomyopathy, as well as in the decision making for therapeutic interventions. Proper assessment of the degree of myocardial ischemia and viability is essential to aid in therapies that may improve patient outcomes. In addition, a wealth of evidence exists on the prognostic value of the information obtained from noninvasive imaging. One must utilize an imaging study or studies in an organized fashion, incorporating the latest scientific evidence, guidelines and appropriateness criteria. This review summarizes the advantages, disadvantages and relevant literature on various imaging modalities currently available for the evaluation of myocardial ischemia and viability.

Abstract: The journal Structural Chemistry has published reports of original research and reviews of research areas in all field of structural chemistry, creating and disseminating new knowledge, uncovering variations and regularities in structural information, and fostering discussions among scientists. In addition, from time to time, it communicates papers concerned with the history of the science of structures, obituaries of structural chemists, and reviews of books related to structural chemistry. These contributions that could be covered by the term of “the human side” are surveyed in this paper using the occasion of celebrating the 30-year anniversary of launching this periodical.

TL;DR: The results from an ultrasound study performed on an 11-year-old boy, who had several weeks of intermittent abdominal pain, showed a nonperistaltic loop of bowel near the umbilicus, which suggested either an internal hernia or a diverticulum.
Abstract: The results from an ultrasound study performed on an 11-year-old boy, who had several weeks of intermittent abdominal pain, showed a nonperistaltic loop of bowel near the umbilicus, which suggested either an internal hernia or a diverticulum. Tc-99m pertechnetate imaging showed a focal collection near the umbilicus, which was consistent with a Meckel's diverticulum. No evidence was found of gastrointestinal bleeding. Exploratory laparotomy showed a Meckel's diverticulum near the terminal ileum and attached to the anterior abdominal wall close to the umbilicus. Small bowel had herniated through the loop formed by the terminal ileum and the diverticulum.
