TL;DR: Household family members of GC patients could be infected with a shared H. pylori strain, putting them at risk for developing the disease, and it may be justified to identify and eradicate the H.pylori infection in such family members early, before the neoplastic changes become irreversible.
Abstract: Family environment probably represents a high route of transmission for H. pylori, a bacterium associated with gastric cancer (GC). We report two cases of GC in a husband-wife pair of immigrants from Romania. The disease was first diagnosed in the wife, and three years later in her husband of 55 years. Both patients had active H. pylori-related inflammation. Household family members of GC patients could be infected with a shared H. pylori strain, putting them at risk for developing the disease. Therefore, it may be justified to identify and eradicate the H. pylori infection in such family members early, before the neoplastic changes become irreversible.

TL;DR: The focus of this article is THA in patients with osteoarthritis using Mr. H's case as an illustration to review indications and contraindications for THA and other treatment options as well as nursing care for patients undergoing THA.
Abstract: Osteoarthritis is the most common cause for hip pain. Total hip arthroplasty (THA) can relieve pain and enhance mobility and quality of life for patients with arthritic hip pain. The focus of this article is THA in patients with osteoarthritis using Mr. H's case as an illustration. It reviews indications and contraindications for THA and other treatment options as well as nursing care for patients undergoing THA.

TL;DR: The CDC WONDER interface is an online interface that allows health care workers to access the large-linked electronic health record database Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System and perform near real-time vaccine safety analyses; hence it has the potential to become a powerful and accessible tool to provide information-driven decision-making regarding vaccine safety.
Abstract: Dissemination of misleading information regarding vaccine safety has contributed to the reduction in vaccination rates and the resurgence of diseases once considered eliminated. The CDC WONDER interface can be used to perform simple but powerful safety analyses and counter misinformation. The dissemination of false and misleading information regarding vaccine adverse reactions online has led to negative consequences, including raising parents' concerns about vaccine safety and fostering a growing opposition to the use of vaccines. However, health care workers can also use online resources to counter misinformation. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Wide-ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research (CDC WONDER) is an online interface that allows health care workers to access the large-linked electronic health record database Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System and perform near real-time vaccine safety analyses; hence it has the potential to become a powerful and accessible tool to provide information-driven decision-making regarding vaccine safety.

TL;DR: The genetic combination of Hb Mobile and Hb S was found in a healthy black man whose hemolysate resembles that of HB S electrophoretically.
Abstract: The genetic combination of Hb Mobile (β73 Asp→ Val) and Hb S (β6 Glu →Val) was found in a healthy black man whose hemolysate resembles that of Hb S electrophoretically. His mother and sister have Hb AS; the father and brother have Hb A Mobile. No clinical nor hematologic abnormalities were detected in any member of the family. A slightly decreased oxygen affinity associated with Hb Mobile appears to have no clinical significance. Simple methods of differentiating Hb Mobile S from the electrophoretically similar but clinically severe Hb SD Los Angeles are described.
