04 Dec 2003TL;DR: In this article, a light emitting display for compensating for the threshold voltage of transistor or mobility and fully charging a data line is presented, where a transistor and first through third switches are formed on a pixel circuit of an organic EL display.
Abstract: A light emitting display for compensating for the threshold voltage of transistor or mobility and fully charging a data line. A transistor and first through third switches are formed on a pixel circuit of an organic EL display. The transistor supplies a driving current for emitting an organic EL element (OLED). The first switch diode-connects the transistor. A first storage unit stores a first voltage corresponding to a threshold voltage of the transistor. A second switch transmits a data current in response to a select signal. A second storage unit stores a second voltage corresponding to the data current. A third switch transmits the driving current to the OLED. A third voltage determined by coupling of the first and second storage units is applied to a transistor to supply the driving current to the OLED.

28 Jan 1991TL;DR: In this article, a portable lightweight combination laptop and pad computer has a display mounted on a main housing for movement between a closed position and an open position, where a keyboard is covered by the undersurface of the display and the display viewing surface remains visible so that the computer may be used in the pad mode with a conductive stylus for data and command entry.
Abstract: A portable lightweight combination laptop and pad computer has a display mounted on a main housing for movement between a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, a keyboard is covered by the undersurface of the display and the display viewing surface remains visible so that the computer may be used in the pad mode with a conductive stylus for data and command entry. In the open position, the keyboard is exposed so that the computer may be used in a laptop or desk top mode, or in a combined mode including the pad mode. The display is mounted to the housing by a four bar hinge mechanism, and a pair of latches are provided approximately mid-way between the front and rear portions of the housing along the side margins to securely latch the display in the closed position for storage, transit or use in the pad mode. A removable power pack, which attaches to the rear of the housing, carries battery power and a charging circuit for supplying power to the computer elements contained within the housing.

27 Sep 2012TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present an apparatus and a method for wireless charging that can prevent a human body from being exposed to a magnetic field by interrupting wireless charging when the human body approaches during wireless charging.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and a method for wireless charging. The method includes: receiving a wireless power and performing wireless charging by a wireless power reception apparatus; detecting whether a human body approaches the wireless power reception apparatus during receiving of the wireless power; and when approaching of the human body is detected, interrupting the wireless charging. The method can prevent a human body from being exposed to a magnetic field by interrupting wireless charging when a human body approaches during wireless charging.

13 Mar 2012TL;DR: In this paper, a portable device includes a power receiving unit configured to receive a first energy or a second energy from a wireless power transmitter, the first energy being used to perform a communication function and a control function, the second energy was used to charge a battery.
Abstract: A portable device is provided. The portable device includes a power receiving unit configured to receive a first energy or a second energy from a wireless power transmitter, the first energy being used to perform a communication function and a control function, the second energy being used to charge a battery, and the wireless power transmitter being configured to wirelessly transmit a power, a voltage generator configured to generate a wake-up voltage from the first energy, or to generate a voltage for charging the battery from the second energy, a controller configured to perform the communication function and the control function, the controller being activated by the wake-up voltage, and a communication unit configured to perform a communication with the wireless power transmitter based on a control of the controller.
