02 Jun 2005TL;DR: In this paper, a gas supply nozzle is used to diffuse the process gas supplied through the first supply channel at a designated angle, where the first outlet channels are inclined with respect to the direction of the first gas supply channel.
Abstract: An apparatus to manufacture a semiconductor, in which distribution of process gases supplied to a reaction region in a reaction chamber is uniform, includes a gas supply nozzle to supply process gases to a semiconductor substrate in the reaction chamber, wherein the gas supply nozzle includes a first supply channel formed in a longitudinal direction, and first outlet channels formed at an outlet of the first supply channel such that the first outlet channels are inclined with respect to the direction of the first supply channel at a designated angle to diffuse the process gas supplied through the first supply channel.

19 Aug 1998TL;DR: In this paper, a method for forming a metal layer for an integrated circuit device includes forming a first conductive layer on a substrate, which can be an aluminum layer having a thickness in the range of approximately 500 to 1500 Angstroms.
Abstract: A method for forming a metal layer for an integrated circuit device includes forming a first conductive layer on an integrated circuit substrate. While forming the first conductive layer, a reflection index of the first conductive layer is monitored, and the formation of the first conductive layer is terminated when the reflection index of the first conductive layer reaches a predetermined value. More particularly, the first conductive layer can be an aluminum layer having a thickness in the range of approximately 500 Angstroms to 1500 Angstroms.

16 Feb 2006TL;DR: In this paper, a user adaptive speech recognition method and apparatus is disclosed that controls user confirmation of a recognition candidate using a new threshold value adapted to a user, which includes calculating a confidence score of recognition candidate according to the result of speech recognition.
Abstract: A user adaptive speech recognition method and apparatus is disclosed that controls user confirmation of a recognition candidate using a new threshold value adapted to a user. The user adaptive speech recognition method includes calculating a confidence score of a recognition candidate according to the result of speech recognition, setting a new threshold value adapted to the user based on a result of user confirmation of the recognition candidate and the confidence score of the recognition candidate, and outputting a corresponding recognition candidate as a result of the speech recognition if the calculated confidence score is higher than the new threshold value. Thus, the need for user confirmation of the result of speech recognition is reduced and the probability of speech recognition success is increased.

TL;DR: An action potential detector based on a prudent combination of wavelet coefficients of multiple scales is proposed and its performance for neural signal recording with varying degrees of similarity between signal and noise is demonstrated.
Abstract: We present a method for the detection of action potentials, an essential first step in the analysis of extracellular neural signals. The low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and similarity of spectral characteristic between the target signal and background noise are obstacles to solving this problem and, thus, in previous studies on experimental neurophysiology, only action potentials with sufficiently large amplitude have been detected and analyzed. In order to lower the level of SNR required for successful detection, we propose an action potential detector based on a prudent combination of wavelet coefficients of multiple scales and demonstrate its performance for neural signal recording with varying degrees of similarity between signal and noise. The experimental data include recordings from the rat somatosensory cortex, the giant medial nerve of crayfish, and the cutaneous nerve of bullfrog. The proposed method was tested for various SNR values and degrees of spectral similarity. The method was superior to the Teager energy operator and even comparable to or better than the optimal linear detector. A detection ratio higher than 80% at a false alarm ratio lower than 10% was achieved, under an SNR of 2.35 for the rat cortex data where the spectral similarity was very high.

TL;DR: From the analysis, this paper proposes an optimal design method using the second resonance frequency operation with the bi-furcation phenomenon and presents design procedure for high efficiency.
Abstract: This paper presents a theoretical analysis, an optimal design method, and experimental results for a wireless power transfer (WPT) system with an intermediate coil. The analytical expression of the dc voltage transfer function is presented and discussed. In a two-coil WPT system, which has low coupling coefficient, the intermediate coil boosts the apparent self-inductance and magnetizing inductance of the primary side at around the resonance frequency of the intermediate coil, so that the apparent coupling coefficient is compensated. The coupling coefficient makes the system efficiency increase and induces bifurcation phenomenon. From the analysis, this paper proposes an optimal design method using the second resonance frequency operation with the bifurcation phenomenon and presents design procedure for high efficiency. A prototype of the WPT system with the intermediate coil is implemented and experimented to verify the validity of the analysis and the proposed design method. The prototype operates at 100 kHz switching frequency and has an air gap between primary and secondary side of 200 mm. An overall system efficiency of 95.57% has been achieved at 6.6 kW of output power.
