17 Aug 2010TL;DR: The Fokker-Planck equation as mentioned in this paper describes the evolution of conditional probability density for given initial states for a Markov process, which satisfies the Ito stochastic differential equation.
Abstract: In 1984, H. Risken authored a book (H. Risken, The Fokker-Planck Equation: Methods of Solution, Applications, Springer-Verlag, Berlin, New York) discussing the Fokker-Planck equation for one variable, several variables, methods of solution and its applications, especially dealing with laser statistics. There has been a considerable progress on the topic as well as the topic has received greater clarity. For these reasons, it seems worthwhile again to summarize previous as well as recent developments, spread in literature, on the topic. The Fokker-Planck equation describes the evolution of conditional probability density for given initial states for a Markov process, which satisfies the Ito stochastic differential equation. The structure of the Fokker-Planck equation for the vector case is

TL;DR: The factors affecting Cloud computing adoption, vulnerabilities and attacks are surveyed, and relevant solution directives to strengthen security and privacy in the Cloud environment are identified.
Abstract: Cloud computing offers scalable on-demand services to consumers with greater flexibility and lesser infrastructure investment. Since Cloud services are delivered using classical network protocols and formats over the Internet, implicit vulnerabilities existing in these protocols as well as threats introduced by newer architectures raise many security and privacy concerns. In this paper, we survey the factors affecting Cloud computing adoption, vulnerabilities and attacks, and identify relevant solution directives to strengthen security and privacy in the Cloud environment.

TL;DR: An overview regarding the fungal lipase production, purification, and application is discussed, and various industrial applications of lipase in pulp and paper, food, detergent, and textile industries are described.
Abstract: Lipases (triacylglycerolacyl hydrolases, EC3.1.1.3) are class of enzymes which catalyze the hydrolysis of long-chain triglycerides. In this review paper, an overview regarding the fungal lipase production, purification, and application is discussed. The review describes various industrial applications of lipase in pulp and paper, food, detergent, and textile industries. Some important lipase-producing fungal genera include Aspergillus, Penicillium, Rhizopus, Candida, etc. Current fermentation process techniques such as batch, fed-batch, and continuous mode of lipase production in submerged and solid-state fermentations are discussed in details. The purification of lipase by hydrophobic interaction chromatography is also discussed. The development of mathematical models applied to lipase production is discussed with special emphasis on lipase engineering.
