10 Oct 1994TL;DR: It is shown that upward embeddings of a toroidal map can be obtained in a very natural way by means of flow techniques.
Abstract: The model of the torus as a parallelogram in the plane with opposite sides identified enables us to speak of upward drawings of graphs in the torus. It is shown that upward embeddings of a toroidal map can be obtained in a very natural way by means of flow techniques.

TL;DR: In this article, a pragmatic approach to language, through Alceste, provides all the information that the social psychologist needs to conceive one model capable to rescue the link between lexical worlds and inter-group relations.
Abstract: This article stands up for relationships among the concepts of Themata and of Topic ground, in order to develop a pragmatic approach to language. The Alceste method is an effective tool to operate this articulation. The clusters distribution that it detects reproduces the positions taken by different groups of speakers. The Topic ground contains Themata. The lexical oppositions, which the factorial analysis makes visible, correspond to the dichotomies, the polarities that keep in motion the inter-group relations. This pragmatic approach to language, through Alceste, provides all the information that the social psychologist needs to conceive one model capable to rescue the link between lexical worlds and inter-group relations.

TL;DR: In this article, the importance of gift on different cultures and its role in the formation of social relations is discussed, and the starting point is a necessary reflection on the seminal work by Marcel Mauss, L´Essai sur le Don, published in 1920.
Abstract: This article apraises the importance of gift on different cultures and its role in the formation of social relations. In this connection the starting point is a necessary reflection on the seminal work by Marcel Mauss, L´Essai sur le Don, published in 1920. A discussion of Mauss' thesis based on recent anthropological bibliography, brings to light the study of things that must be kept, particulary sacred objects. A new discussion is proposed on inalienable things.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors built their study on surveys with Algerian exporting enterprises or potentially exporting and found that the contribution of these SMEs in exports remains too far from the objectives targeted by the Algerian Government.
Abstract: In the last three decades of the 20th century, the economic policies of the developed countries were built on small and medium enterprises. The governments of these countries encouraged the creation of an entrepreneurial culture by providing all the necessary facilities and subsidies. In this logic, the Algerian Government has launched some initiatives encouraging SMEs, with the aim of gradually getting out from the windfall economy and diversifying exports. We built our study on surveys with Algerian exporting enterprises or potentially exporting. The analysis of data collected showed that the effort deployed by the Algerian Government has led to an important increase of SMEs creation. Results showed that the majority of these new companies are non-exporting. However, the reaching of the objective of a diversified economy is far from being achieved. The contribution of these SMEs in exports remains too far from the objectives targeted by the Algerian Government.
