TL;DR: In this paper, the dielectric behavior of substituted esters compounds at room temperature at two frequencies: 9.73 GHz and 7.26 GHz was investigated in terms of a single relaxation Cole and Cole model, and it was observed that the τ values observed in the pure liquid phase are longer by an order of 10 compared to their dilute solution values due to increased dipole interactions.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new method is proposed to estimate the polarizability of a molecule in an excited state using solvatochromic shift measurements and McRae's equation.
Abstract: A new method is proposed to estimate the polarizability (αe) of a molecule in an excited state using solvatochromic shift measurements and McRae's equation. In the earlier methods the contribution due to polarizability was not considered. In view of this, the proposed method is also expected to give a better estimation of excited state electric dipole moment (μe) and the (θ) angle between excited and ground state electric dipole moments, μe and μg apart from giving values of polarizability of the molecules in the excited state. This method has been applied in the case of the La band of p-nitro aniline and the results for all the parameters are found to be satisfactory and of right order in comparison with that reported in literature.

TL;DR: This survey intends to formulate a review on the context-aware modeling in two aspects: context data retrieval and context data modeling.
Abstract: As the data or information gets increased in various applications, it is very much essential to make the retrieval and modeling easier and simple. Number of modeling aspects already exists for this crisis. Yet, context awareness modeling plays a significant role in this. However, there requires some advancement in modeling system with the incorporation of advanced technologies. Hence, this survey intends to formulate a review on the context-aware modeling in two aspects: context data retrieval and context data modeling. Here, the literature analyses on diverse techniques associated with context awareness modeling. It reviews 60 research papers and states the significant analysis. Initially, the analysis depicts various applications that are contributed in different papers. Subsequently, the analysis also focuses on various features such as web application, time series model, intelligence models and performance measure. Moreover, this survey gives the detailed study regarding the chronological review and performance achievements in each contribution. Finally, it extends the various research issues, mainly the adoption of Evolutionary algorithms, which can be useful for the researchers to accomplish further research on context-aware system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the thermal comfort of two climate-specific Indian cities New Delhi and Jodhpur in terms of pressure difference Pascal hour (PDPH), under various indoor conditions.
Abstract: Natural ventilation potential (NVP) has been evaluated for two climate-specific Indian cities New Delhi and Jodhpur in terms of pressure difference Pascal hour (PDPH), under various indoor conditions. Indoor temperature, indoor heat gain, and natural ventilation rate because of both buoyancy and wind effect have been evaluated for a conceptualized low-rise building using an analytical model for NVP. Thermal comfort in these stations has been evaluated in terms of percentage of time the indoor temperature falls within the thermal comfort zone. Qualitative assessment of NVP has been carried out through the cumulative frequency curves for adequate pressure variation throughout the indoor and outdoor environment of the building. The thermal comfort assessment shows that New Delhi and Jodhpur have indoor thermal comfort for 40% of the time in a typical year. Thermal comfort is found to exist for 45–90% of the time during the months of July, August, and September, whereas least thermal comfort period of 20–40% is observed during winter months of December, January, and February and PDPH curves confirms the fact that natural ventilation alone does not provide indoor thermal comfort. To achieve thermal comfort in the building during the rest of the time, an active system or complex passive systems are required to be employed.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of nano cadmium oxide material on the physico-mechanical and electrical properties of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films was studied.
Abstract: In this work, the effect of nano cadmium oxide material on the physico-mechanical and electrical properties of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films was studied. A series of PVA/CdO nanocomposites with varying amounts of cadmium oxide (CdO) viz. 0, 0.5, 1.0 2.0 and 4.0 wt% have been prepared by solution casting method. The prepared polymer nanocomposites were analysed for XRD, SEM, FTIR and UV–vis spectra. Further, the tensile strength and elongation of these polymer nanocomposites were measured and compared with those of the neat polymer systems. UV–vis spectra showed that the absorbance increases with the increasing amount of nano CdO. The nano CdO particles are not agglomerated in the PVA matrix as observed from SEM images. The influence of frequency on the dielectric properties was studied at room temperature. The dielectric properties provide the information about the dielectric relaxation and possible interaction between the nano material and polymer matrix which can be exploited for microwave applications.
