18 Jan 2013TL;DR: This work proposed method which extracts the iris data by separating the iri region from the pupil and sclera, using roipoly and inverse roipolyn, and matching with the stored repository by using reduced pixel block algorithm.
Abstract: Iris recognition is one of the important authentication mechanism used in many of the applications. Most of the applications capture the eye image, extracts the iris features and stores in the database in digitized form. The existing methods use normalization process in the iris recognition this is comparatively takes more time to overcome this drawback we proposed method which extracts the iris data by separating the iris region from the pupil and sclera, using roipoly and inverse roipoly. Extracted features are matched with the stored repository by using reduced pixel block algorithm. The experiment is carried out on CASIA-IrisV3-Interval and result shows an improvement in feature extraction by 45% and matching by 91% compared to the existing method.

01 Jun 2018TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of hemispherical (HCC), cylindrical (CCC), toroidal (TCC) and toroidal re-entrant (TrCC) type combustion chamber (CC) geometry on the characteristics of combustion, performance and exhaust emissions from the engine using Simarouba Oil Methyl Ester (SuOME) and to compare with base engine operated with diesel fuel.
Abstract: Present study investigates the effect hemispherical (HCC), cylindrical (CCC), toroidal (TCC) and toroidal re-entrant (TrCC) type combustion chamber (CC) geometry on the characteristics of combustion, performance and exhaust emissions from the engine using Simarouba Oil Methyl Ester (SuOME) and to compare with base engine operated with diesel fuel. Simarouba oil biodiesel is prepared by 2 stage transesterification using methanol and KoH. 4-stroke naturally aspirated single-cylinder water-cooled direct-injection diesel engine with different optimized injection parameters of injection pressure to 240 bar, injection timing to 270bTDC, 6 hole injector of 0.2 mm diameter, and loading condition at rated speed of 1500 rpm were used for testing. Ignition delay (ID), combustion duration (CD), peak pressure (PP), brake thermal efficiency (BTE), exhaust gas temperature (EGT) and exhaust emissions (HC, CO, smoke opacity and NOx) were measured to estimate the behaviour of the diesel engine running on SuOME with different combustion geometry. Results were indicated that, use of SuOME reduces the engine performance with increased emissions compared to fossil diesel conventional fuel. However use of toroidal re-entrant CC gave the better combustion and performance with reduced emission except NOx comparing with other combustion chamber design.

TL;DR: In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition for the transformation graph G −++ to have crossing number one or two is established, where G is the graph with vertex set V(G) ∪ E(G), where the vertex x and y are joined by an edge.
Abstract: The transformation graph G –++ of G is the graph with vertex set V(G) ∪ E(G) in which the vertex x and y are joined by an edge if one of the following conditions holds: (i) x, y ∈ V(G) and x and y are not adjacent in G, (ii) x, y ∈ E(G) and x and y are adjacent in G, (iii) one of x and y is in V(G) and the other is in E(G), and they are incident in G. In this paper we present characterizations of graphs whose transformation graphs G –++ are eulerian, outerplanar, maximal outerplanar or minimally nonouterplanar. Further we establish a necessary and sufficient condition for the transformation graphs G –++ to have crossing number one or two.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed the recent literature on the measurement of residual stress in polymer composite by employing the above-mentioned relaxation techniques and summarized the categories of residual stresses, causes of formation, techniques of measurements and also briefly outlines the chronological developments of the Hole drilling and slitting method.
Abstract: Residual stress measurement is of utmost importance for the safety and reliability of engineering components and has been an active area of scientific research. Relaxation techniques such as hole drilling, slitting and ring core method are widely applied semi destructive techniques for residual stress measurements in polymer composites. This article reviews the recent literature on the measurement of residual stress in polymer composite by employing the above-mentioned relaxation techniques. This article summarizes the categories of residual stresses, causes of formation, techniques of measurements and also briefly outlines the chronological developments of the Hole drilling and slitting method. The article also provides a comparative summary of these relaxation methods.

01 Aug 2019TL;DR: BPSO is applied to achieve best switching without violating parameters allied to distribution system thereby ensuring the security of the system and the results obtained are satisfactory.
Abstract: The paper focuses on fimding the best topology of IEEE-69 bus distribution network by interchanging the status of tie and sectionalizing switches without creating any loop in the network, the aim of the research is to improvise the system reliability in terms of voltage profile maximization and overall system loss minimization. Binary Particle swarm optimization (BPSO) is applied to achieve best switching without violating parameters allied to distribution system thereby ensuring the security of the system. The results obtained are satisfactory.
