TL;DR: This work proposes to combine a K-Nearest Neighbors classifier with a linear Conditional Random Fields model under a semi-supervised learning framework to tackle the challenges of Named Entities Recognition for tweets.
Abstract: The challenges of Named Entities Recognition (NER) for tweets lie in the insufficient information in a tweet and the unavailability of training data. We propose to combine a K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) classifier with a linear Conditional Random Fields (CRF) model under a semi-supervised learning framework to tackle these challenges. The KNN based classifier conducts pre-labeling to collect global coarse evidence across tweets while the CRF model conducts sequential labeling to capture fine-grained information encoded in a tweet. The semi-supervised learning plus the gazetteers alleviate the lack of training data. Extensive experiments show the advantages of our method over the baselines as well as the effectiveness of KNN and semi-supervised learning.

TL;DR: Recent evidence that reveals surprising new insights into how RA and arsenic trioxide cure this leukaemia, by targeting PML–RARα for degradation is discussed, suggesting drug-triggered oncoprotein degradation may be a strategy that is applicable to many cancers.
Abstract: This Review discusses the new data that have revealed surprising insights into the pathogenesis of acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APL) and the mechanism by which retinoic acid plus arsenic trioxide combination therapy targets the oncogenic fusion protein promyelocytic leukaemia (PML)–retinoic acid receptor-α (RARα), curing most cases of APL.

TL;DR: In this article, a review of electrolyte design strategies for various materials systems as well as functional applications is presented, where the discussion is divided into three electrolyte types: liquid, solid state, and gel state.
Abstract: Electrolyte design or functional development is very effective at promoting the performance of sodium-ion batteries, which are attractive for electrochemical energy storage devices due to abundant sodium resources and low cost. This review discusses recent advances on electrolytes for sodium-ion batteries and comprehensive electrolyte design strategies for various materials systems as well as functional applications. The discussion is divided into three electrolyte types: liquid, solid state, and gel state. Liquid electrolytes are further divided into different solvent types, including organic carbonate ester, ether, ionic liquid, and water. Solid-state electrolytes also contain two types: solid polymer and glass–ceramic composite. The challenges and prospects of electrolytes for sodium-ion batteries are discussed as well.

TL;DR: Recent results and more generally applicable strategies to improve Fc‐fusion proteins for each application are discussed, with particular attention to the newer, less charted areas.
Abstract: Since the first description in 1989 of CD4-Fc-fusion antagonists that inhibit human immune deficiency virus entry into T cells, Fc-fusion proteins have been intensely investigated for their effectiveness to curb a range of pathologies, with several notable recent successes coming to market. These promising outcomes have stimulated the development of novel approaches to improve their efficacy and safety, while also broadening their clinical remit to other uses such as vaccines and intravenous immunoglobulin therapy. This increased attention has also led to non-clinical applications of Fc-fusions, such as affinity reagents in microarray devices. Here we discuss recent results and more generally applicable strategies to improve Fc-fusion proteins for each application, with particular attention to the newer, less charted areas.
