TL;DR: It is found that this local-world evolving network model can maintain the robustness of scale-free networks and can improve the network reliance against intentional attacks, which is the inherent fragility of most scale- free networks.
Abstract: We propose and study a novel evolving network model with the new concept of local-world connectivity, which exists in many physical complex networks. The local-world evolving network model represents a transition between power-law and exponential scaling, while the Barabasi–Albert scale-free model is only one of its special (limiting) cases. We found that this local-world evolving network model can maintain the robustness of scale-free networks and can improve the network reliance against intentional attacks, which is the inherent fragility of most scale-free networks.

TL;DR: The Visual Object Tracking challenge VOT2019 is the seventh annual tracker benchmarking activity organized by the VOT initiative; results of 81 trackers are presented; many are state-of-the-art trackers published at major computer vision conferences or in journals in the recent years.
Abstract: The Visual Object Tracking challenge VOT2019 is the seventh annual tracker benchmarking activity organized by the VOT initiative. Results of 81 trackers are presented; many are state-of-the-art trackers published at major computer vision conferences or in journals in the recent years. The evaluation included the standard VOT and other popular methodologies for short-term tracking analysis as well as the standard VOT methodology for long-term tracking analysis. The VOT2019 challenge was composed of five challenges focusing on different tracking domains: (i) VOTST2019 challenge focused on short-term tracking in RGB, (ii) VOT-RT2019 challenge focused on "real-time" shortterm tracking in RGB, (iii) VOT-LT2019 focused on longterm tracking namely coping with target disappearance and reappearance. Two new challenges have been introduced: (iv) VOT-RGBT2019 challenge focused on short-term tracking in RGB and thermal imagery and (v) VOT-RGBD2019 challenge focused on long-term tracking in RGB and depth imagery. The VOT-ST2019, VOT-RT2019 and VOT-LT2019 datasets were refreshed while new datasets were introduced for VOT-RGBT2019 and VOT-RGBD2019. The VOT toolkit has been updated to support both standard shortterm, long-term tracking and tracking with multi-channel imagery. Performance of the tested trackers typically by far exceeds standard baselines. The source code for most of the trackers is publicly available from the VOT page. The dataset, the evaluation kit and the results are publicly available at the challenge website.

TL;DR: The trends and representative achievements in the design and synthesis of supramolecular polymers with specific functions are summarized, as well as their wide‐ranging biomedical applications such as drug delivery, gene transfection, protein delivery, bioimaging and diagnosis, tissue engineering, and biomimetic chemistry are summarized.
Abstract: As a novel class of dynamic and non-covalent polymers, supramolecular polymers not only display specific structural and physicochemical properties, but also have the ability to undergo reversible changes of structure, shape, and function in response to diverse external stimuli, making them promising candidates for widespread applications ranging from academic research to industrial fields. By an elegant combination of dynamic/reversible structures with exceptional functions, functional supramolecular polymers are attracting increasing attention in various fields. In particular, functional supramolecular polymers offer several unique advantages, including inherent degradable polymer backbones, smart responsiveness to various biological stimuli, and the ease for the incorporation of multiple biofunctionalities (e.g., targeting and bioactivity), thereby showing great potential for a wide range of applications in the biomedical field. In this Review, the trends and representative achievements in the design and synthesis of supramolecular polymers with specific functions are summarized, as well as their wide-ranging biomedical applications such as drug delivery, gene transfection, protein delivery, bioimaging and diagnosis, tissue engineering, and biomimetic chemistry. These achievements further inspire persistent efforts in an emerging interdisciplinary research area of supramolecular chemistry, polymer science, material science, biomedical engineering, and nanotechnology.

TL;DR: This review focuses on recent advances in three-dimensional printing applications, current challenges and future directions, and introduces basic principles and key aspects of some frequently used printing technologies.
Abstract: Bioprinting technology shows potential in tissue engineering for the fabrication of scaffolds, cells, tissues and organs reproducibly and with high accuracy. Bioprinting technologies are mainly divided into three categories, inkjet-based bioprinting, pressure-assisted bioprinting and laser-assisted bioprinting, based on their underlying printing principles. These various printing technologies have their advantages and limitations. Bioprinting utilizes biomaterials, cells or cell factors as a “bioink” to fabricate prospective tissue structures. Biomaterial parameters such as biocompatibility, cell viability and the cellular microenvironment strongly influence the printed product. Various printing technologies have been investigated, and great progress has been made in printing various types of tissue, including vasculature, heart, bone, cartilage, skin and liver. This review introduces basic principles and key aspects of some frequently used printing technologies. We focus on recent advances in three-dimensional printing applications, current challenges and future directions.

TL;DR: In this article, the types, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of different adsorbents, refrigerants and working pairs are summarized, together with the models that describe the adsorption equilibrium.
Abstract: Solid sorption refrigeration is a type of environmental benign and energy saving technology and the sorbents utilized can be divided into physical, chemical and composite sorbents, according to the nature of the forces involved in the adsorption process. The types, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of different adsorbents, refrigerants and working pairs are summarized in this paper, together with the models that describe the adsorption equilibrium. Moreover, some of the procedures to prepare composite adsorbents are presented. The application of different working pairs for different situations is related with the adsorption heat, the adaptability to the driving temperature and to the desired working pressure. The methods to measure the adsorption quantity of different working pairs are compared, and future research directions of adsorption working pairs are also analyzed.
