TL;DR: In this paper, three different versions of optimal velocity models are examined and the stability conditions of the models are obtained by using the linear stability theory, and the general solutions are given for, which can lead to specific solutions in previous work.
Abstract: The jams in the congested traffic are related with various density waves, which might be governed by the nonlinear wave equations, such as the Korteweg–de-Vries (KdV) equation, the Burgers equation and the modified Korteweg–de-Vries (mKdV) equation. Three different versions of optimal velocity models are examined. The stability conditions of the models are obtained by using the linear stability theory. The KdV equation near the neutral stability line and the mKdV equation around the critical point are derived by applying the reductive perturbation method, respectively. The traffic jams could be thus described by the KdV and kink–antikink soliton solutions for the two kinds of equations. The general solutions are given for, which can lead to specific solutions in previous work. Moreover, they are applied to solve a new model—the full velocity difference model and the corresponding KdV and kink–antikink soliton solutions could be quickly obtained, which demonstrates the general solutions presented herein are useful.

TL;DR: A new permanent-magnet (PM) hybrid brushless (PMHB) machine is proposed and implemented as the integrated starter-generator (ISG) for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and the finite-element method is employed to simulate its steady-state and dynamic performances.
Abstract: A new permanent-magnet (PM) hybrid brushless (PMHB) machine is proposed and implemented as the integrated starter-generator (ISG) for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). It has the advantages of higher torque density than other PMHB machines and much wider speed range than other PM brushless machines. The key is to tune its dc-field winding current in such a way that three major modes of ISG system operation for HEVs, namely, engine cranking, battery charging, and torque boosting, can be achieved effectively. The finite-element method is employed to simulate its steady-state and dynamic performances. Finally, a 2-kW prototype is constructed and tested to experimentally verify the simulation results and the validity of the proposed ISG system.

TL;DR: A novel oxygen-defective ZnO (O-ZnO)/reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/UiO-66-NH2 Z-scheme heterojunction has been prepared by a facile solvothermal route and may well present an insight into the design and fabrication of novel Z-Scheme photocatalytic systems for environmental remediation and energy conversion.
Abstract: The construction of a Z-scheme heterojunction is an effective way to isolate photogenerated electron–holes and enhance the activity of the semiconductor photocatalysts. However, the Z-scheme heterojunctions based on metal–organic frameworks were rarely reported. Herein, a novel oxygen-defective ZnO (O-ZnO)/reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/UiO-66-NH2 Z-scheme heterojunction has been prepared by a facile solvothermal route. The morphologies, structures, and photoelectric characteristics of the acquired materials were characterized in detail. The photocatalytic activity of the O-ZnO/rGO/UiO-66-NH2 heterostructure was assessed by photocatalytic CO2 reduction. The results indicated that the O-ZnO/rGO/UiO-66-NH2 heterostructure could efficiently reduce CO2 to CH3OH and HCOOH, and its activity was significantly superior to that of O-ZnO/UiO-66-NH2 and ZnO/rGO/UiO-66-NH2. Under illumination of visible light, the yield of CH3OH and HCOOH over the O-ZnO/rGO/UiO-66-NH2 heterostructure reached 34.83 and 6.41 μmol g–1 h–1...
