TL;DR: The outcome suggests that the DA model obtains a more accurate forecast than any individual model alone, suggesting that the aggregation strategy can offer substantial benefits in terms of improving operational forecasting.
Abstract: In this paper, an aggregation approach is proposed for traffic flow prediction that is based on the moving average (MA), exponential smoothing (ES), autoregressive MA (ARIMA), and neural network (NN) models. The aggregation approach assembles information from relevant time series. The source time series is the traffic flow volume that is collected 24 h/day over several years. The three relevant time series are a weekly similarity time series, a daily similarity time series, and an hourly time series, which can be directly generated from the source time series. The MA, ES, and ARIMA models are selected to give predictions of the three relevant time series. The predictions that result from the different models are used as the basis of the NN in the aggregation stage. The output of the trained NN serves as the final prediction. To assess the performance of the different models, the naive, ARIMA, nonparametric regression, NN, and data aggregation (DA) models are applied to the prediction of a real vehicle traffic flow, from which data have been collected at a data-collection point that is located on National Highway 107, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. The outcome suggests that the DA model obtains a more accurate forecast than any individual model alone. The aggregation strategy can offer substantial benefits in terms of improving operational forecasting.

TL;DR: In this article, a general integrable coupled nonlinear Schrodinger system is investigated, where the coefficients of the self-phase modulation, cross-phase and four-wave mixing terms are more general while still maintaining integrability.
Abstract: In this paper, a general integrable coupled nonlinear Schrodinger system is investigated. In this system, the coefficients of the self-phase modulation, cross-phase modulation, and four-wave mixing terms are more general while still maintaining integrability. The N-soliton solutions in this system are obtained by the Riemann–Hilbert method. The collision dynamics between two solitons is also analyzed. It is shown that this collision exhibits some new phenomena (such as soliton reflection) which have not been seen before in integrable systems. In addition, the recursion operator and conservation laws for this system are also derived.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors summarized the advances in the formation of C(sp3)−C(sp 3) bonds between two alkyl electrophiles, with emphasis on the control of chemoselectivity that is exceedingly challenging to achieve due to similar structures and reactivities of two unactivated alkal halides.
Abstract: The formation of C–C bonds directly by catalytic reductive cross-coupling of two different electrophiles represents one of the practical synthetic protocols that differs from the conventional nucleophile/electrophile coupling methods. Particularly the reductive coupling of alkyl electrophiles with other electrophiles is still a challenge. This report summarizes the advances in the formation of C(sp3)–C(sp3) bonds between two alkyl electrophiles, with emphasis on the control of chemoselectivity that is exceedingly challenging to achieve due to similar structures and reactivities of two unactivated alkyl halides. The coupling of alkyl halides with aryl or acyl electrophiles was also discussed based on the chemical approach developed by our group, followed by a brief overview of the reactions of tertiary alkyl halides. In the end, a brief overview of the challenges in this exciting field was illustrated. Whereas the reaction mechanisms generating alkyl–alkyl products are proposed to involve reactions of Ni(I) species with alkyl halides to generate Ralkyl–Ni(III)–Ralkyl intermediates through a radical/Ni cage-rebound process, the obtained evidence seemingly supports that the radical chain mechanism governs the acylation and arylation of alkyl halides. The latter features a cage-escaped alkyl radical.
