TL;DR: Several techniques for edge detection in imageprocessing are compared and various well-known measuring metrics used in image processing applied to standard images are considered in this comparison.
Abstract: Edge detection is one of the most commonly used operations in image analysis, and there are probably more algorithms in the literature for enhancing and detecting edges than any other single subject. The reason for this is that edges form the outline of an object. An edge is the boundary between an object and the background, and indicates the boundary between overlapping objects. This means that if the edges in an image can be identified accurately, all of the objects can be located and basic properties such as area, perimeter, and shape can be measured. Since computer vision involves the identification and classification of objects in an image, edge detections is an essential tool. In this paper, we have compared several techniques for edge detection in image processing. We consider various well-known measuring metrics used in image processing applied to standard images in this comparison.

TL;DR: Numerical results indicate that the combination of MSEBI and PSO can provide a reliable tool to accurately identify the multiple structural damage.
Abstract: A two-stage method is proposed here to properly identify the site and extent of multiple damage cases in structural systems. In the first stage, a modal strain energy based index (MSEBI) is presented to precisely locate the eventual damage of a structure. The modal strain energy is calculated using the modal analysis information extracted from a finite element modeling. In the second stage, the extent of actual damage is determined via a particle swarm optimization (PSO) using the first stage results. Two illustrative test examples are considered to assess the performance of the proposed method. Numerical results indicate that the combination of MSEBI and PSO can provide a reliable tool to accurately identify the multiple structural damage.

TL;DR: A novel hybrid MADM method is proposed for agile supplier selection based on four criteria including performance, cost, flexibility and technology, including step-wise weight assessment ratio analysis (SWARA) and Vlse Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) are applied in decision-making process.
Abstract: The concept of the agile supply chain has been taken into account as means of achieving a high competitive edge in rapidly changing business environments. Supply partner selection is one of the most appealing issues for agile supply chain management, which have recently been studied by academicians and practitioners. Due to a large number of factors to be considered, supplier selection process is a difficult task for every company. Therefore, supplier selection process can be viewed as a multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) problem. In this paper, a novel hybrid MADM method is proposed for agile supplier selection based on four criteria including performance, cost, flexibility and technology. Two MADM methods, including step-wise weight assessment ratio analysis (SWARA) and Vlse Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) are applied in decision-making process. More precisely, SWARA is used for determining the importance of each criterion and calculating their weights and VIKOR i...
