TL;DR: The bulky benzene ring on the platinum(II) complex increases the steric hindrance along the polymer main chain, inhibits the polymer aggregation strength, regulates the phase separation, optimizes the morphology, and thus improves the efficiency to 16.35% is the highest efficiency for single-junction PSCs reported so far.
Abstract: A new strategy of platinum(II) complexation is developed to regulate the crystallinity and molecular packing of polynitrogen heterocyclic polymers, optimize the morphology of the active blends, and improve the efficiency of the resulting nonfullerene polymer solar cells (NF-PSCs). The newly designed s-tetrazine (s-TZ)-containing copolymer of PSFTZ (4,8-bis(5-((2-butyloctyl)thio)-4-fluorothiophen-2-yl)benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophene-alt-3,6-bis(4-octylthiophen-2-yl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine) has a strong aggregation property, which results in serious phase separation and large domains when blending with Y6 ((2,2'-((2Z,2'Z)-((12,13-bis(2-ethylhexyl)-3,9-diundecyl-12,13-dihydro-[1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-e]thieno[2″,3″:4',5']thieno[2',3':4,5]pyrrolo[3,2-g]thieno[2',3':4,5]thieno[3,2-b]indole-2,10-diyl)bis(methanylylidene))bis(5,6-difluoro-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-2,1-diylidene))dimalononitrile)), and produces a power-conversion efficiency (PCE) of 13.03%. By adding small amount of Pt(Ph)2 (DMSO)2 (Ph, phenyl and DMSO, dimethyl sulfoxide), platinum(II) complexation would occur between Pt(Ph)2 (DMSO)2 and PSFTZ. The bulky benzene ring on the platinum(II) complex increases the steric hindrance along the polymer main chain, inhibits the polymer aggregation strength, regulates the phase separation, optimizes the morphology, and thus improves the efficiency to 16.35% in the resulting devices. 16.35% is the highest efficiency for single-junction PSCs reported so far.

TL;DR: In this article, a P-doped Co3O4 nanowire array on nickel foam was developed for water splitting using low-temperature annealing, using NaH2PO2 as the P source.
Abstract: It is vitally essential to design highly efficient and cost-effective bifunctional electrocatalysts toward water splitting. Herein, we report the development of P-doped Co3O4 nanowire array on nickel foam (P-Co3O4/NF) from Co3O4 nanowire array through low-temperature annealing, using NaH2PO2 as the P source. As a 3D catalyst, such P-Co3O4/NF demonstrates superior performance for oxygen evolution reaction with a low overpotential (260 mV at 20 mA cm–2), a small Tafel slope (60 mV dec–1), and a satisfying durability in 1.0 M KOH. Density functional theory calculations indicate that P-Co3O4 has a reaction free-energy value that is much smaller than that of pristine Co3O4 for the potential determining step of the oxygen evolution reaction. Such P-Co3O4/NF also performs efficiently for hydrogen evolution reaction, and a two-electrode alkaline electrolyzer assembled by P8.6-Co3O4/NF as both anode and cathode needs only 1.63 V to reach a water-splitting current of 10 mA cm–2.

TL;DR: This critical review describes some of the important chemical and physical processes for graphene functionalization and identifies six major challenges in graphene research.
Abstract: Graphene has attracted great interest for its superior physical, chemical, mechanical, and electrical properties that enable a wide range of applications from electronics to nanoelectromechanical systems. Functionalization is among the significant vectors that drive graphene towards technological applications. While the physical properties of graphene have been at the center of attention, we still lack the knowledge framework for targeted graphene functionalization. In this critical review, we describe some of the important chemical and physical processes for graphene functionalization. We also identify six major challenges in graphene research and give perspectives and practical strategies for both fundamental studies and applications of graphene (315 references).

TL;DR: The results suggest that Cas9/gRNA can be engineered to provide a specific, efficacious prophylactic and therapeutic approach against AIDS.
Abstract: AIDS remains incurable due to the permanent integration of HIV-1 into the host genome, imparting risk of viral reactivation even after antiretroviral therapy. New strategies are needed to ablate the viral genome from latently infected cells, because current methods are too inefficient and prone to adverse off-target effects. To eliminate the integrated HIV-1 genome, we used the Cas9/guide RNA (gRNA) system, in single and multiplex configurations. We identified highly specific targets within the HIV-1 LTR U3 region that were efficiently edited by Cas9/gRNA, inactivating viral gene expression and replication in latently infected microglial, promonocytic, and T cells. Cas9/gRNAs caused neither genotoxicity nor off-target editing to the host cells, and completely excised a 9,709-bp fragment of integrated proviral DNA that spanned from its 5′ to 3′ LTRs. Furthermore, the presence of multiplex gRNAs within Cas9-expressing cells prevented HIV-1 infection. Our results suggest that Cas9/gRNA can be engineered to provide a specific, efficacious prophylactic and therapeutic approach against AIDS.
